Having trouble starting car...Corolla06 Sep 2006 03:10 GMT15
I have a 96 corolla. And I recently had trouble starting it in the
morning. I have had this issue before. And usually changing the battery
was the correct remedy. So I changed the battery 5 days ago. And the
car had no trouble starting up until today. Right after work, at around
1998 Landcruiser A/C noise06 Sep 2006 02:15 GMT3
While the A/C is running on my 1998 Landcruiser, every so often I hear a
momentary "whooop" sound. Could it be the automatic temp control adjusting
the vent gates?  It's kinda funny, especially when I have a lady in the car
and she hears this "whooop".  She would ask "who did ...
steering coupler06 Sep 2006 01:29 GMT7
I have a 94 camry which needs a steering column to steering rack
coupler (looks like a small ujoint, visible from under hood)  My local
toy dealer wants $265; can find it on-line for about $40.  Must I lower
the steering rack to replace the coupler?  That is a pain.  Has anyone
9 months and 1500 miles - change oil?05 Sep 2006 22:38 GMT9
I drove much less these days because of gas price. So since I had
oil/oil filter change on my 2000 Toyota Camry last November, I
only drove 1500 miles.
I took my car to a shop, they checked and told me the oil is

excessive smoke from tailpipe-couldn't perform emissions test?05 Sep 2006 17:10 GMT5
I have a 94 toyota tercel, 210k miles and lately there has been excessive
smoke issuing from the tailpipe at start up and then it usually stops after
the car has warmed up, thinking that was due to burning oil because this car
slurps up oil like its job. Then it starts to hesitate ...

Parting out a Toyota MR2 1986 Model.  I have many many parts that are

any recent air conditioning improvement with newer Matrix/Vibe?05 Sep 2006 03:15 GMT9
I'm interested in maybe getting one of these models but I'm not sure if
I can afford to buy new. I hear about the older models having very
weak/not so cold AC. Has this been improved on the '06 and '07 models?
Did/does the Corolla also have rather weak AC?
Something I've noticed about those 80s (Toyota) Novas05 Sep 2006 02:41 GMT2
Hi, I've noticed something strange. Almost every 80s "Toylet" Nova I
see nowadays is light blue. Was this a very popular color back then or
did it just outlas the other ones? A few months ago, I counted the
Novas I saw in a month, and 5 out of the 6 were that color. Anyone have
Driving T in Deep water safety05 Sep 2006 02:04 GMT10
We all know that we should never drive through water more than one or
two inches deep.  In spite of this during virtually every major storm
we see TV news pictures of old ladies and smart-a.ses driving along
with water rushing over the headlights and onto the hood of cars as if
Noise and smell05 Sep 2006 01:46 GMT8
I just had work done on my 95 corolla: rear brake shoes, disc pad rear,
brake drum, drum repl rear (on both rear wheels).  Now when driving
(most noticeably at 0-30 but also at higher speeds) I hear a clicking
sound with each wheel rotation.  And when I get stop and get out, there
Avalon radio problems05 Sep 2006 00:58 GMT2
I searched through all of the postings here and didn't see a similar
problem, but maybe someone has seen this before.  I have two Avalons
that both have what is probably the same radio problem.  The 96 model
has very weak sound in the back speakers.  The 99 model has no sound
Who makes what chassis?04 Sep 2006 23:02 GMT1
Who makes what chassis? How is it serviced?
Is there a web site that shows what car company engineers
and/or manufactures for another car company. Example: Matrix =
Vibe, Corolla = Prism, etc.
Camry I4 + Supreme gaz = danger??04 Sep 2006 22:57 GMT10
Hi! A few weeks ago, I read in a NG (I don't remember if it is this one, if
so, please accept my apologize to bring this issue back!) that cars that
toyota recommends to use regular fuel should not use supreme since the
octane is too high and the engine would not be able to burn it ...
