Smell when running the heater fan 05 Camry24 Oct 2006 01:29 GMT1
Just thought I would share this with anyone having this problem. Everytime
this fall when I used the heater, I get this smell like something is
burning. It kinda comes and goes. I openned the hood to check things out and
there were a bunch of half burned maple tree seeds trapped ...

99 Camry 2.2 liter timing belt issues/noises23 Oct 2006 20:36 GMT7
Over the past few weeks I had noticed a rattling sound that seemed to
be coming from the area of the a/c compressor which I thought might be
a bearing getting ready to fail.  It seemed to be most noticeable at
startup.  I couldn't or didn't hear it when I drove the vehicle.  I
1987 Toyota Van rear seat question23 Oct 2006 17:58 GMT1
I just purchased an '87 Toyota Van that is missing the middle and rear
seats.  This is a cargo van that has holes for seat and seatbelt
hardware.  It also has leaf springs, so the floor is flat where coil
springs would normally be located.  A previous owner pulled the seats
Better jack?23 Oct 2006 05:15 GMT8
We have a 93 corolla wagon and are looking for a better, and easier jack
to put in the car, than the crummy hard to use one that came with it.
Where can we get something better and easier to use, that won't cost a
lot?
Corollla Engine Oil Level23 Oct 2006 03:17 GMT3
I have a 2001 Corolla LE which has 68K miles on it. I change the engine
oil regularly every 3K miles as recommended. Recently I have noticed
that within 2K miles my engine oil mark comes to the low level on the
dip stick.
Alloy wheel dent leaks air22 Oct 2006 21:21 GMT13
My aftermarket rear right alloy wheel is dented on the lip and is
leaking air.  Actually, it's dented in two places - one the visible and
one on the non-visible side (viewing from the street), and both places
are leaking.  This was "fixed" by a metalworking wheel shop last year
Toyota Starlet window question22 Oct 2006 16:50 GMT3
My driver's window was a little stiff and then the  mechanism
eventually broken (I had to press down on the window while turning the
handle to open the window after that).  This will result in a fail on
the car's NCT (National Car Test) which I have to take in a few weeks,
RAV4 navigation screen22 Oct 2006 16:10 GMT12
I am ordering a new RAV4 now, with full map NAVI,
and I wonder:
Does anyone know if it is possible to use the navi screen for a backup
camera or for a DVD player (only when parked of course),
2004 Celica GT -- When to change Manual Transmission Oil?22 Oct 2006 02:22 GMT1
For my 2004 Celica GT---when should I change the hypoid gear oil?  How
often?  After how many miles?

03 Matrix - water in floor pan22 Oct 2006 02:21 GMT4
Just bought a 2003 Matrix - now water is collecting in the rear
passenger side floor pan
Anyone have this experience? - and what was the fix?
Because it was in the rear, I suspected the door gasket, but it
Tercel Door Handle22 Oct 2006 01:47 GMT6
Oddest thing happened to me yesterday: I went to the car, unlocked the
drivers door and the handle snapped in two as I lifted it!  The piece
that came off is about 3/4 of the entire handle.  Has anybody ever had
this happen and is the replacement difficult?
{OT} I guess he did! (Humor)21 Oct 2006 17:08 GMT2
From another group. The OP thought it was humorous...
I did too!

fj cruiser rant21 Oct 2006 15:53 GMT18
My wife and I need a new car. Requirements: 4wd, ac, 4 person, towing
capacity, preferably manual trans. and reliable. Don't want the fluff.
No leather, roof racks etc. just basic, good design. I've always had
good fortune with Hondas, Subarus and other Japanese vehicles so that's
