{OT} 10/19, or "Death Of A President"17 Oct 2006 05:36 GMT11
The politicos in this NG may be interested in an item shown on UK
TV tonight, ie 9 October.  "Death of a President" is a fictional
documentary about events surrounding the assassination/murder of
George W Bush on 19 October 2006.  Cleverly assembled from real
2001 Corolla rear brake squeak17 Oct 2006 03:57 GMT5
I just had my local brake shop replace the rear brake shoes on my 2001
Corolla. they also cut the drums. now there is a squeak sound most
noticeably on the rear drivers side only when I release the brake
pedal. it sounds maybe like a spring. anyone experienced this, or those
Ordering a 2007 Rav416 Oct 2006 19:27 GMT17
Rav4 choices are sparse in SoCal.  I can't find more than a dozen 3.5L
limited trims in the immediate area.  The few in driving distance lack
leather or are painted some god awful color.
The dealership said they could order one for me.  Is this a legitimate way

slightly OT: E-loan? Anyone used it?16 Oct 2006 14:16 GMT6
Not very well versed in buying a car and I have never
financed one before.
Just wondering if anyone has used e-loan before. Their
rates are substantially better than what my local bank
{OT}:Citgo16 Oct 2006 07:15 GMT16
Since Hugo Chavez thinks America is evil, maybe we ought to stop sending him
our evil petrodollars by not buying Citgo?  Citgo is the primary outlet for
Venezuelan oil in the U.S.
Sludge Report...16 Oct 2006 06:16 GMT9
My local Toyota Service Writer told me he had a gal in a Sienna come
in with the check engine light lit.
He went to the computer and found no oil changes.
He asked her if she had her oil changed elsewhere.
Scion Audio upgrade, phase 216 Oct 2006 04:09 GMT3
So, I got some 'plans' for making speaker adapters, and cut them out of
some old melamine shelving I had hanging around. They came out OK; they
aren't going to be seen, so looks weren't that important.
I dug up my 'spare' pair of MB Quart 6.5 inchers, and set to the task of
a constant reader in need of HELP!16 Oct 2006 02:50 GMT3
After three years of delightful service from my 03 Avalon, I got a 'check
engine' light yesterday.   Went to  Auto Zone and borrowed their code
reader, finding out that I had three related errors.   P0441, P0442 and
P0446.
Not impressed with my retroprojector...16 Oct 2006 02:47 GMT2
Hi!  I owned a Camry 2007 I4.  Since I found that the low beam lights were
not giving enough lights during nights here in CAnada, I decided to replace
my Philips one with PIAA X white plus Xtreme cool blue 4000K kelvin.  To my
surprised it did not do what it normaly does when ...
Interior Trim Panel removal and installation16 Oct 2006 02:20 GMT11
Are the Interior Trim Panel removal and installation roughly the same
in the 06 Sienna as the 02 Sienna?  I have a 02 Haynes manual.
I removed and replaced the panel from the rear door and was encouraged
how easy it was with the nifty white snap out plastic buttons.  How
The liberal Coulter16 Oct 2006 02:17 GMT7
I just listened to Airamerica for the first time.
Rachel Maddow is just as much of an idiot as Ann Coulter.
Do people actually listen to this sh.t? Boy, some people need to get
some lives...
{OT} The Big Dig rides again!!!16 Oct 2006 01:44 GMT6
What buttheads we have for politicians here in Mass. True definition of
the moniker Massholes!
These brainiacs want to reistate the tolls on the Western 4 exits of the
Mass Pike (they have been Toll-Free for quite a while now). Not only that,
1985 OBD16 Oct 2006 00:49 GMT2
Surprise surprise, (to me anyway) I would have never thought this 1985 Chevy s10 4x4
(non FI) that landed on my driveway had OBD. And the 27 trouble codes can be read
from the check engine light just like my good ole Toyota.
Top that off it has a rats nest of emission controls under ...
HELP transmission problem i think?15 Oct 2006 20:34 GMT2
My 1998 toyota camry starts but doesnt move out of park. Its automatic
and the shifter slides VERY easily from reverse to neutral to drive
even without pushing the button on the side of the shifter and nothing
happens, no movement. The tow truck driver who came to get my car
