I'm helping a buddy out with a leak on his automatic-equipted '93 Corrola. It is leaking trans. fluid from around the drivers side axle seal. I've done this job on Hondas, but never on a Toyota.

I have a 1988 Corolla FX with 123 000 + miles; bought new, kept in good repair, preventive maintenance done, no major repairs ever. I want to get some estimate of how much longer I can expect it, or count on it, to last -- defining "last" in either of two ways.
