Tercel, Corolla, noisy rat-box?06 Feb 2007 02:16 GMT9
Is a Corolla any less noisy and rough than a Tercel? I drove my nephew's 95 Tercel on the freeway and
now I'm sure I don't want one. It is rough on bumps, there's a lot of road noise, etc.
I am sure I cannot afford a used Camry or Avalon so Corolla is most likely what I will get. ...
1997 Avalon Keyless remote06 Feb 2007 00:04 GMT9
I have a 1997 Avalon XLS with the factory installed keyless entry system.
I bought this car as a replacement for a totaled 1996 Avalon XLS.
The '97 came with no keyless remote.  I figured I could use the remotes from
the '96.
oxygen sensor05 Feb 2007 23:55 GMT16
I've got a 98 4cyl 4Runner 4x4 which I've recently pulled off a P0136
code.  From the information I've gathered it is the oxygen sensor
located after the cat.   I've cleared the code and I'm waiting to see
if it comes back.  I've read however that bad readings from the 2nd
Car a/c: dumping the heat05 Feb 2007 21:42 GMT10
A general question, if I may.  Pure curiosity, IOW.
How does a typical car's a/c get rid of the heat being pumped out
of the passenger compartment?  Does it have its own radiator?  Or
does it share the main one?

Brake Light - '98 Avalon05 Feb 2007 07:16 GMT2
The Brake light was intermittant.
Manual sez brake fluid or parking brake.
I set the parking brake - no Brake
light.
'97 Corolla Headliner05 Feb 2007 07:14 GMT3
The headliner of my beloved '97 Corolla began to sag and tear during a
recent cold snap. While I had it in for some other routine work, I
checked on a replacement. But they quoted me $1,000 for a genuine
Toyota headliner. (I don't know if it was a kit or a complete headliner
{OT} posting/rants05 Feb 2007 07:03 GMT9
I see another, apparently new to using a computer and USENET, is ranting
about off-topic posts.  OT=off-topic.  You want to read off-topic, open it.
If you don't, then don't open it.
It takes an ACTION on your part to view any post.  If you have a Toyota
door detent spring thingy???04 Feb 2007 22:50 GMT7
The thingy that holds the door open at different widths (sliding spring
bar  thingy) on my Camry has stopped working, so now the door just
flings all the way to maximum open.
Is there a broken spring or something there I could possibly replace, or
Camry tail light replacement04 Feb 2007 22:47 GMT1
I have a replacement tail light assembly for my 98 Camry.  How do I
insert the brass fasteners (that hold it to the car body) into the
plastic assembly?  I broke these out of the old assembly, but they
seemed to be molded into the old assembly.
Are Japanese cars really more reliable?  Latest Consumer Reports info04 Feb 2007 21:46 GMT287
There's a lot to consider when buying a car.  Ideally, a biodiesel unit
would be desirable because it doesn't contribute to greenhouse gasses
overall, and the fuel source is infinitely renewable.  Walking or biking of
course are better for your body.  However, if you're limited to a
malfunction indicator lamp04 Feb 2007 20:36 GMT13
'99 Avensis 1.8.  An orange warning light has lit permanently on the dash
panel. The manual say it is a "malfunction indicator lamp". It is orange and
the symbol is the shape of an engine. Everything in the car is working as it
should with no problem. The manual say it means ...

Clutch splines04 Feb 2007 16:56 GMT11
Ive been looking at new clutches for my '91 celica. Can anyone (Ray?)
tell me if Aisin were the original manufacturers of the cars clutch?
Aisin have two part numbers for my car - they switch over half way
through my model year and have only one difference - spline diameter
’97 Corolla DX lighting problems04 Feb 2007 16:28 GMT8
My son recently took the car off to college and he called to tell me
that when he applies the brake the dash lights come on.  He also found
out that at night when turns on the park or headlights, his brake
lights including the factory installed spoiler light (eye level brake
