Trans fluid change 2003 Avalon04 Feb 2007 13:50 GMT4
I have a 2003 Toyota Avalon with 48,000 miles.  I have been told by the
Toyota service techs that it is time for the transmission fluid to be
changed.  The service center wants $130.00 for this change.  A non-Toyota
service center will change the fluid for $80.00.  I understand ...

I have a 1997 Camry and i have a problem i'm sure someone can clarify
for me.  My tail lights are out.  The bulbs are fine, the fuse is
fine, and the light indicator never turned on, on my dash.  but the
lights are out.  All the other lights are just fine.  I assume that a

Caliper locking up.04 Feb 2007 02:43 GMT5
I just bought a used 97 Corolla.
The right front caliper is locking up. This is the only one that is
doing it, and the rotors and brakes pads are good,it even looks like
the calipers are new also.
plastic-metal-lube04 Feb 2007 02:37 GMT3
Searching around my abode for some light lubricant for a small DC motor I
happened to spot a small unused aerosol can of Mobil 1. The motor itself
isn't binding but the long metal shaft is. There's three speeds. At the
lowest speed setting the shaft doesn't want to turn. The end ...
Scott, how close were you to that mess in Volusia Co?04 Feb 2007 02:06 GMT9
Just saw the news.  (I'm trying to catch the weather.  I'm wearing a kilt
tonight and it's supposed to be -5, so I'm trying to figure out how to keep
my legs warm.)
Lake and Volusia counties look like they really got it.

Noisy engine starting in the morning03 Feb 2007 19:29 GMT2
My 2000 corolla with 100.000 miles is very noisy starting up in the
morning. After a few minutes it quiets down and is very smooth after
that.I tought it needed a valve adjustment, but according to the dealer
there is no such adjustment on that model.
Dim Osama Obama speaking to the Dims...03 Feb 2007 19:27 GMT2
OBAMA: It's going to be cynicism that we're fighting against. It's the
cynicism that's born from decades of disappointment, amplified by talk
radio and 24-hour news cycle, reinforced by the relentless pounding of
negative ads that become the staple of modern politics, the cynicism
98 Sienna Backup light access03 Feb 2007 19:04 GMT5
Folks,
I bought a couple of LED bulbs to replace the bulbs in the backup lights
to get more light back there for backing up.  I open the hatch and remove
the one nut that I see.  Now I can pry up that one side of the lens a
1995 Pickup with coolant leak03 Feb 2007 18:58 GMT1
I have a 1995 V6 extracab SR5 Toyota Pickup (not tacoma) that has a
coolant leak. The leak is coming from the bottom of the engine. I
thought it was the lower engine block to radiator return hose, but
when I inspected it, there was no sign of leaking on the hose or
Sears Optima Batteries?03 Feb 2007 17:22 GMT19
I was at Sears getting a new battery for my 14-year old Trooper today,
and spotted a line of batteries called "Optima" (Red-Top for starting,
Yellow-Top for deep cycle) using gel-cell technology.
Evidently Costco offers a similar product, their "Dry Cell" battery.

expected to switch off their lights for five minutes to call attention to
2007 V6 Highlander slow to warm up03 Feb 2007 04:00 GMT6
I have a '07 V6 Highlander that seems to take a long time for the temp
guage to come up to normal and even when it does, it is not in the 3:00
position.  It is closer to the 'tick' mark that is below 3:00.  In
addition, it spends a very long time below that tick mark, actually, in
