freewheeling hubs on Previa all-trac06 Jan 2008 20:02 GMT8
Wondering if anyone has installed them, how hard it was (I've done it
on a 4runner) and what if any difference it made in mpg. I see the
hubs are made, but I've never heard of anyone doing it.
(FYI) Toyota Passes Ford for No. 2 in US Sales06 Jan 2008 19:24 GMT19
DETROIT (AP) - Toyota Motor Corp. overtook Ford Motor Co. to become the
No. 2 automaker by U.S. sales in 2007, using new products and relentless
strategy to break Ford's 75-year lock on the position.
Toyota sold 48,226 more cars and trucks than Ford, according to sales
when should I change trans. fluid???06 Jan 2008 14:51 GMT10
I have a 2000 4Runner limited with about 35000 miles.
I don't think I ever had the transmission fluid changed. Is it necessary
and how often? or am I wasting my money at the dealership?
Also how about the coolant system? How frequent should I flush that?
4runner mpg  4cyl vs 2nd gen V605 Jan 2008 16:37 GMT9
Is there much difference in fuel (in)efficiency between a 1st or 2nd
generation 5 speed 4 cylinder and a second generation V6 5-speed? I
need to replace my 4 cylinder and cant find one locally. I dont really
want or need a V6 but thats all I can find right now.

Had my timing belt and water pump changed05 Jan 2008 11:50 GMT6
All:
Well, I bit that bullet and had my 1998 Avalon's timing belt and water pump changed today. I also had some
new drive belts put in. Still runs smoothly; although, I notice a bit more of a whining noise when the car is in idle.
Whew, I am glad THAT is over.  :-)
{{ OT }}  Obama and Huckabee win in Iowa, Hillary in 3rd with 97% in05 Jan 2008 06:04 GMT17
Huckabee is the come-from-behind-kid, and Hillary is losing her edge.
Chris Dodd has just dropped out of the race due to lack of funds, and a very
poor showing. Guiliani is not among the top 4 Republican finishers, and his
continuing does not look promising.
oil change opinions05 Jan 2008 03:26 GMT12
Not a big deal but just wondering what others feel about this.  I have
to get an inspection on a corolla soon and wonder if I should change
the oil as well?  It doesn't get driven more than 2000 miles/year and
is very low miles also and in excellent shape (2004 model).   If the
'08 Tacoma -- Undercoating -- Yea or Nay ??05 Jan 2008 02:12 GMT8
I've just purchased a brand-new '08 Tacoma 4x4, 2.7 litre engine.
Previously, I owned an '86 Toyota pickup 4x2, 22R engine.  Purchased
new, I maintained it regularly and finally sold it at 240,000 miles to a
friend.  I can't remember if I'd ever had it undercoated.  Based on the
94 camry starting wierdness05 Jan 2008 01:39 GMT8
I have an automatic '94 toyota camry.  I bought the car used, and it
started fine for the first 6 months or so, there were times that I
left the lights on, and had to jump it, but after driving to my
destination, it was fine.
Interesting talk with Toyota05 Jan 2008 01:16 GMT34
All:
I tried talking to Toyota and they handed me from one person to the next; then to a dealership here in
Southern California. No one  knew if the 1MZ-FE was an interference or non-interference engine or not.
Interesting...

How many hours to change a timing belt?04 Jan 2008 03:32 GMT14
All:
How many hours does it take to replace a timing belt and water pump on a 1998 toyota avalon? I have been
told about five to six hours. Does that sound about right? Thanks!

01 Prizm door handle housing03 Jan 2008 02:52 GMT1
The inside, driver's side door handle housing has cracked.  I thought I
would take the housing off of the rear door and put it on the front
until I can get to the dealer for a repair.  How do I remove the housing
(and how do I replace it)?
