{OT}  new york's new governor20 Mar 2008 00:06 GMT90
Looks like the great State of New York finally has a black governor,
albeit by attrition.  I wonder why it took this liberal, open-minded,
northeast state that supposedly freed the slaves from the racist South
to put a black man at the top of their government?  At least Virginia,
St. Patrick's Gay..19 Mar 2008 21:23 GMT11
I don't get st. patrick's day..What exactly is being celebrated. I was
tired yesterday as I was up the night before watching a movie.  So, This
year,  this annoying holiday especially grated on my nerves.
It started with the salesman who came to my home on a previously
4 cyl 3rz-fe valve burning issue...??19 Mar 2008 01:33 GMT8
I have a 97 4runner 4cyl with a 3rz-fe engine. I have heard from many
people that this engine burns a lot of valve. A mechanic recently told
me that the valve becomes tight over time on cylinder number 4. So the
valve becomes burned over time. Has anyone heard about this..? If so

What oil change interval for Corolla?18 Mar 2008 04:49 GMT15
Its my 2004 Corolla with 83 K miles. As soon as I got it  a few weeks
ago, I changed the oil and filter. Got premium Bosch (I think) filter.
Installed Castrol Synth-Blend.  Pure synthetic is just TOO pricey! How
often should I change the oil? 3K? Or is 6K sufficient?
1998 Sienna Sliding Door Problems18 Mar 2008 04:10 GMT15
Been having intermittent problems with passenger sliding door since we
bought the van used, the inside button would stick in but was always able to
open from the outside, now on our current road trip it's finally broke to
the point where it won't open at all.  Planning to take it ...
1985 Toyota Tercel bumping noise was bearing...18 Mar 2008 03:23 GMT2
Odd that it stopped making noise when I steered to the right; the bearing
had to be spinning still!
I was informed that the axle came with a new CV joint attached.

six cd player issue18 Mar 2008 00:17 GMT9
I have a Celica 1.8 vvt-i purchased in year 2000 and the cd-player has
stopped working (error 2, it says).
I think it's just a lens cleaning issue, however I don't know how to
safely clean it because of the lid stays open only for a few seconds,
BMW 3 Series Coupe review17 Mar 2008 21:16 GMT10
This car is the closest to perfect you can get in a sports car under
$100K.
Love the new front end, torque off the line, brakes and interior

{OT:} Eliot's [Spitzer] Mess17 Mar 2008 20:27 GMT84
"Funny thing, this 'discretion.' For example, Senator David Vitter,
Republican of Louisiana, paid Washington DC prostitutes to put him in
diapers (ewww!), yet the Senator was not exposed by the US prosecutors
busting the pimp-ring that pampered him.
1985 Toyota Tercel wagon with loud bumping sound17 Mar 2008 19:25 GMT26
It happened after we got our brakes installed by a local backyard mechanic:
A bumping.
It got louder, so I thought it was because we didn't turn the rotors.
After I replaced the rotors with new ones it was quieter, but still there.

{OT:} While we fiddled McCain steered USAF Tanker to EADS16 Mar 2008 21:52 GMT14
Repugnantcans are always preaching one thing but doing another - and
making big bucks.  I can see a time in the future when we need
critical parts and Airbus tells us to go pound sand.
