Mileage on 2003 Highlander31 May 2008 21:12 GMT6
I've only had the 2003 Highlander for a month or so.  Mileage has been
all over the place.  The worst has been 16 while pulling a small
trailer.  My best was 24 until yesterday's trip which was 30.  I have
checked and rechecked my figures and calculations.

Intermittent Turn Signal31 May 2008 14:54 GMT7
I have a 98 Corolla that has an intermittent turn signal.  Sometimes it
works.  Sometimes it doesn't.  The bulbs are all good.  The emergency
flashers work all the time, but the turn signals work only about half the
time.  It does this both left and right.  When the turn signals ...
Maximum Tire pressure (a police perspective)31 May 2008 05:25 GMT12
We've talked here before about max cold tire inflation pressure.
Here's a fascinating article from Officer.com .  Some police
officers drive with maximum air pressure in their tires as shown
on the tire sidewall, not the door sill or the owner's manual.

Oil prices expected to rise above $200 per barrel30 May 2008 02:04 GMT210
The price of oil is expected to rise above $200 per barrel. That will
push the price of gasoline above $6 / gallon. The bottom line is that
the supply of crude oil is limited and not increasing as fast as the demand.

{OT:} Are you getting concerned yet with McCain's lobbyist menagerie?29 May 2008 23:06 GMT11
Looks like mr. McNasty's lobbyist talk is just that.  The next to go,
Phil Graham, a foreign agent who engineered the mortgage debacle
bailout of banks but not consumers for UBS is still a UBS, Swiss Bank,
lobbyist.
Conversion of Corolla to Flex-fuel?29 May 2008 15:24 GMT8
Is this possible to do aftermarket?  I understand that converting a
car to run alcohol fuels is just a matter of beefing up the materials
in the fuel system since alcohol fuels are more corrosive, and
tweaking the ECM.  I' m thinking that ethanol and methanol will become

this topic.
{OT:} We can't fix the fossil fuel problem28 May 2008 04:34 GMT42
We won't fix the fossil fuel problem until we absolutely have to.  I'm
not sure we can.  Our entire economy depends completely on the
internal combustion engine.  It won't be easy when we have almost no
mass transit system and the railroad infrastructure is crumbling.
