Ok I've decided to sell my headunit as I'm going back to uni!
Anyway, its fully boxed, all manuals, cage, iso adaptor, remote, mask key,
face plate cover, removal tools basically how it was when it came out of the
factory!

I'm planning on putting together another car PC now that I have the
Celica that has a double din slot.
The plan is to do away with the factory headunit altogether and build
the PC into a double din box behind the screen which will be permanently

With all of the new features/programs with the surround sound/audio
systems these days, do you feel like an equalizer is necessary anymore
for DVD/Stereo/CD systems? Or are they just another 'toy' that is pretty
much obsolete these days?

Not being that clued up on car head units, I am turning to you guys for
advice.
I am looking for a MP3 head unit for my car; I have looked at some but
don?t know which one to pick for the best sound and features. My budget

I've bought a Sony M8800 and had a bit of a 'botch' with the installation of
the head unit....
Having pulled out the factory head unit, I plugged in the ISO harness
(included with the Sony) and then connected the harness to the Sony (= easy)

Very old Cassette/Radio.
I has LCD display, search/scan button, but am I right that it doesn't have
FM ?

Does anyone know where I can get a spare  CD cartridge for my Philips RC026 CD
changer, If so please advise.

Does alpine mp3 car radio's have a gap in between tracks??
I usually have cd's like ministry of sound and clubland as mp3's to save
space, but with mp3, there are always gaps in between tracks and i dont like
that.

My current setup is Alpine CDA-9833 head unit, Alpine MRD-M301 amp and
Alpine SWR-1241D (DVC 4+4) Sub. The Sub is wired in parallel to give a 2Ohm
load. Problem I have now is that the volume of the sub is extremely low,
when the volume on the head unit is set 20 to 35 (max) it is ...

Is there a simple and cheap way to connect an iPod to a factory-fitted Ford
head unit (it's a 6000 - type, in a new model Mondeo)? I know that there are
proprietary cables on the market, but is there a simple bodge connection(s)
that will persuade the head to accept the audio output ...

does anyone know if there is a connection for a cd changer in the luggage
compartment of the above model. The Factory installed radio has CD
functions.
I would appreciate any help on where to locate it if fitted.

I have replaced the factory-fit Sony CDX-S2000 head unit in my car with a
CDX-F5700. The display panel on the S2000 was not over-bright and did not
have a facility to auto-dim when the car lights were turned on. The F5700
does have this facility but it does not operate - ...

A general question from a newbie about subs with integrated amps (eg
the Sony AW200X or Pioneer TSWX205A).
Can I feed the sound from the other speakers through the integrated
amp, or does it only feed the sub that its part of?
