| DAB aerial types (glass mount, internal, panel mount, etc) | 28 May 2005 11:16 GMT | 2 |
I have a JVC DAB receiver add-on for my head unit which works reasonably well (apart from questionable DAB coverage but that's another matter...). It came supplied with an external aerial which can either be stuck onto the roof and the cable routed down the side of the rear

| Volvo 740 - looms, amps and wierdness | 18 May 2005 08:39 GMT | 1 |
As you probably realise, a 1989 Volvo 740 isn't worth as much as a CD changer cable, but it's still nice to have music. The battery failed and as a result, the CR-702 radio has a code request. I would normally just chuck it out and put another radio in, but the

| Who are the hot ticket for HDD based car audio? | 15 May 2005 07:22 GMT | 4 |
I'm building myself a car PC, but the missus doesn't want me to butcher her dash, so she just wants an all in one MP3 HDD tuner unit to replace her standard Skoda Headunit in her 2000 Fabia. She doesn't want the expense of buying an iPod, a link system and a new

| Alpine KCA-420i iPod adapter question | 14 May 2005 00:35 GMT | 2 |
I'm getting an Alpine CDA-9812RB and eventually an Alpine KCA-420i to connect an ipod. My question is do I have to have everything on the ipod in MP3 format? I assuming the interface doesn't add AAC compatibility.

I just got a new (to me) car and it's got a Sony CDX L400X CD stereo - but no manual. I've had fun searching on google for a manual, and found a few places that want to charge me £15 for a pdf file, but not managed to get one for free. :-(

does anyone know if the bass engine, and bass type, tone controls on the CDM-9807RB affect the subwoofer out too? Reason is, I want to cut the bass going to my dash speakers, while sending a full bass signal to my subwoofer amp.

| Which FM modulatoris worth having/to be avoided? | 05 May 2005 23:39 GMT | 1 |
I've got a company car coming soon, would like to play Ipod in car. I can't use an aux-in adaptor, so best option seems to be a wired FM modulator. (I reckon I can get at the aerial plugs OK). But previous posts have indicated some modulators are poor quality.
