This happend last night, bear with me and see if it makes sense.
Was driving in the 77GT Celica (2 litre TC 18R-G engine) when suddenly i
looked in the mirror and got a damn huge trail of smoke, thick as fog, it
was nighttime but i could smell it, exactly like when a F1 car lets go. ...

Simple question for someone who knows the answer.
Is the gearbox on a Rover 218SD the same as a gearbox on a rover 214?
Both cars are about 1994? So could the 218 gearbox be put into a 214?

Friend has a 1.1 metro that's snapped its cam belt..  anyone know if the
pistons and valves are likely to have met??  I was of the belief it wouldn't
be a problem??
just want to make sure garage fixing it are not going to fleece her!!

My brother is at uni in southampton, just phoned us up to say his car's
engine is knackered, drinking water like a fish, loads of blue smoke from
the exhaust, won't idle, gutless etc,
I've diagnosed a blown head gasket over the phone, i'd been suspecting this

Im going to be fitting a Sony CD player into a Fiesta with the double Din
Slot. I have the wiring loom converter and fascia that reduces the gap but
is there something else needed to hold up the rear of the stereo?

I am planning to get my wife a second hand car she could use to go to work.
She would like something small. Our budget is limited so I was thinking of
getting a 1995-1997 car. The choice is narrowed to a car withan automatic
gearbox anbd a 1.0-1.4 L engine.

In the likes of autotrader why do people include "no timewasters
please" in the advert? Why would anybody go to view a car they werent
really interested in? And I am not talking about adverts for exotic
supercars.

Just a quick question.
A friends mk1 Nissan micra has developed a fault (surprise surprise)
Whenever she turns a corner in the car (speed doesnt matter apparently)
the hand break warning light comes on.

   I'm having problems with my 1.8 Zetec Escort. When the motor is started
from cold the engine revs keep pulsing. Its rather like an uncontrolled
oscillation, the revs pulse up to 1000 revs and then drop down till the
engine almost stalls, then the revs shoot up to 1500 and drop ...

Can anyone tell me where the external air temperature sensor is on an X
plate Primera Estate please?
