Best wire splicing method.31 Mar 2005 18:44 GMT16
The usual case of bolting the stable door.........  but having just had my
radio stolen I'm about to replace my old faulty car alarm with a rather sexy
new one.
Thirty plus wires connected to the alarm although not all will require
Cavlier Central Locking31 Mar 2005 18:38 GMT13
I've got a problem with the central locking on my Mk3 cavalier (one with
deadlocks). When you lock the driver's door or push the lock down, all the
other locks go down and then pop back up. The same thing happens if you try
locking the boot.
Camshaft options for rover v831 Mar 2005 17:56 GMT1
Howdo...
So the rattle turned out not to be loose spring tension, but a knackered
camshaft, apparently by having old (dished) followers used with a new
camshaft. Several of the lobes are damaged.

I have a 1999 Vectra 1.8 LS with 80,000miles on the clock. Sometimes
when I go over bumps in the road there is s dull thud/ bumpy noise as if
summit is in the boot. I have emptied the boot and the compartment that
hold the spare tyre- no luck.
Gates cambelts31 Mar 2005 14:04 GMT6
I've just got a local garage to quote for a cambelt and tensioner
replacement on my son's Mk1 Mondeo TD. I requested the quote to include
a genuine Ford belt kit because there are certain areas where I prefer
to use OEM parts.

VW Sharan low power30 Mar 2005 22:04 GMT9
The family's out grown my trusty Galant, so moved to a 1997 VW Sharan 20l
petrol. I don't expect red hot performance from this type of car, but it's
piss poor, it wouldn't pull me out of bed. It doesn't seem to be missing or
anything. Does anyone know if they're all like this or ...
Tips PLEASE to get my damn alloy wheels off !!30 Mar 2005 17:56 GMT34
I have a BMW 318i to whicj I fitted Oz racing Superleggera wheels, nearly
two years ago now.

corrode on and won't budge.
BIO DIESEL30 Mar 2005 11:08 GMT41
In the modern common rail diesel cars is it OK to top-up with veggie oil
from the supermarket.  I've always used a 20% mix as they do in France on
older style engines but not with a HDI.  It certainly helps the wear on the
fuel pump.
MOT Inspection Variables ..???29 Mar 2005 22:35 GMT7

the wishbone bushes but I didnt replace them ..
This year I put it in ,2000 miles later ,and expected something to be
said about the wishbones  but ( apart from the broked front coil
conlog alarm cuts fuel pump power - common problem?29 Mar 2005 18:52 GMT1
I was driving my Corsa, which while not exactly in its first flush of youth

spluttered to a halt.
