Weird air intake noise on 1.8 Fiat Bravo31 May 2005 22:01 GMT1
Got a weird one - my 1998 1.8 Fiat Bravo makes a strange humming noise when
ticking over, sounding very similar to someone blowing across the top of an
empty milk bottle. The sound is coming from the air intake, and if you put
your hand on the air filter housing you can feel the ...
Like a Jubilee clip without a screw ?31 May 2005 21:51 GMT10
I have what looks like a Jubilee clip but without the screw holding the
lower oil vapour hose on my Peugeot 306 XLD.  Can someone tell me how to
release this type of clip?  There isn't much room down there... hope there
is an easy way.

'better' they are about a quid difference in price.

I have a 1997 Proton compact 1.3 12valve & i am looking for a throttle

Can anyone help me locate one elsewhere please.
Engine dies after few minutes31 May 2005 14:35 GMT36
I have a problem with my Nissan Micra '95. Engine works perfectly (no
stalls, powe cut-offs), until warmed. After it has reached optimal
temperature (5-10 min.dashboard indicator) it suddenly goes down and I
cannot start it again until chilled! I'm sure that it's not overheated and
new Saab desiel smoking A LOT!31 May 2005 11:06 GMT13
I have seen two of these recently, new Saabs, obviously diesels because it
would seem whenever they accelerate even slightly loads of dark sooty smoke
comes out the exhaust. Is this just co-incidence or is there a problem with
Saab diesels? The turbo chargers maybe?
What to stick on his windscreen which wont come off easily?  [OT]31 May 2005 10:08 GMT797
This is slightly off-topic but posted to groups where I figure
people would have some good ideas to help me out.

Panic - it doesn't seem to be the HT lead or the plug! :(30 May 2005 22:46 GMT7
I think I've got probs. My 94 Golf 1.8 CL started running roughly over the
weekend and I determined that the 4th cylinder (on the right as you look
at them) was not firing. I got some HT leads and plugs today from my VW
dealer (all the new HT leads are the same length, is that ...
Clutch on 98 Escort (1.6 16v)30 May 2005 20:42 GMT2
OK - so I'm going to attempt doing the clutch on the above said vehicle.
I've tried Googling for a few hours, but can't see anything that might trip
me up.
Anyone know of any gotchas? Also, once the gearbox is off, would a standard
Low/No Oil - Extent of Damage?30 May 2005 17:14 GMT11
Afternoon,
Yesterday I broke down on the M69 - The engine got very loud (lawnmower
like) at high revs, something knocking as it turned.
I realised even before the RAC got there that i'd ran the oil dry. I'm
Great Joy - passed MOT30 May 2005 12:28 GMT10
My little Pug 205D passed the MOT, despite me being a bit leery of a couple
of things. It's the first diesel I've owned and I am intrigued by the extra
bit of paper I got about the emmission test. The engine got 0.61 on the
opacity test. Is this the smoke test and is that a ...

Had a rear end shunt (my fault). Was'nt a huge collison but it seems to
have bent my grille slightly and forced the bonnet up about an inch or
so.

Fuel line problem (Toyota Corolla diesel)29 May 2005 21:21 GMT7
I have a Toyota Corolla diesel (S reg) and I have reason to believe that
there is a partial blockage in the fuel line. I have been told that there
may be some kind of coarse filter in the fuel tank and that this may be
partially blocked.
