| MOT | 30 Sep 2005 17:33 GMT | 3 |
"H" Reg, 15 yr old Micra. Passed MOT first go! All I did before hand was fit new shoes and pads. What a top little car. Not bad considering I bought it 18 months ago for £50 with 39,000 miles on it.

| Scrapping a car | 30 Sep 2005 13:36 GMT | 50 |
Is it true it costs money to scrap a car? When my cavalier failed it's MOT, the garage helpfully said they would scrap it for their reduced rate of ?25 cos they get trade discount. I give them ?25, they weld it up, then sell it for ?300 more like.

| Nationwide Autocentre | 30 Sep 2005 11:09 GMT | 4 |
Are they any good? My Corsa needs is due a service and an MOT soon and there's a Nationwide Autocentre at the Halfords near my work. Normally I'd just take it to a local garage, but I'm new to the area, live in Hudds and work in Leeds so this is very convenient for me.

| Used Micra - any common problems to look for? | 29 Sep 2005 23:08 GMT | 3 |
I'm looking for an older Micra (the last shape, rounded model) worth about £500-£700ish. Are there any problems common to this car, that I should be aware of? I'd like to know what to look for. Thanks.

| Main Dealer Rip-offs (Again) | 29 Sep 2005 22:08 GMT | 32 |
My cluth release bearing went on my 95 cavalier yesterday. OK, the car's 10 years old, but in good nick, but even as a top range CDX only worth around £500-£600. So I start the usual ring round for a price, and all say they will ahve

| Brake lights come on when clutch pedal is used | 29 Sep 2005 21:22 GMT | 4 |
My Pegueot 306 1997 "R" reg has started doing something weird. When I depress the clutch pedal the brake lights (left, right, and middle) flick on and then off. At first I thought maybe a bit of debris was trapped between the clutch

| Spark plug question. | 29 Sep 2005 19:40 GMT | 12 |
Does anyone have a spark plug book available? I need to know the equivalent of an NGK BPR6ES, but 10mm instead of 14mm. One of those letters must be the code for the size, no? TIA

| The perfect garage. | 29 Sep 2005 18:36 GMT | 84 |
I have a friend who has welding gear, a lathe, and many many tools in his garage (No room for car or bike, only the pushbike!). Slight overkill perhaps, but he swears by it. What do you consider essential to have in the garage?

| Petrol more economical than diesel - Official. | 29 Sep 2005 18:21 GMT | 21 |
Some of you might have read this already. Sunday times 25/9 compared two Citroen C1, one 1.4HDi and one 1.0i . Both cars were driven in convoy one lap around M25. The fuel consumption over the 116 miles were: 1.4HDi 82.7mpg

| Common rail small diesels <1.5ltr , opinions for small motorway comfy car | 28 Sep 2005 19:00 GMT | 8 |
I have a 99 Laguna 1.9 dTI for work which I'll probably replace at the end of next year as it draws closer to 200000 miles. I travel 70+miles a day on the motorway, then the car is taken by the wife across town to her job.
