| Arse #2! | 30 Nov 2005 23:13 GMT | 7 |
Stopped at Halfrauds tofday on the way t a meeting and thought I'd get some new Bosch wiper blades for my E34. Dear but worth it. So fitted the drivers one ok. Passenger side seemed a bit stiff to insert and finally clicked into place but my finger caught the sharp edge of the

| Rugged alarm learning remote? | 30 Nov 2005 20:31 GMT | 3 |
Is there such a thing as an alarm fob that can "learn" from an existing (but dying) fob? Such as those TV all-in-1 remote controls? And if so, does it come in a robust housing able to withstand the hard knockabout hostile environment known as the inside of a handbag? The

| Head skimming | 30 Nov 2005 11:24 GMT | 20 |
How does a local garage skim the head for a head gasket job? I'm picturing heavy machine tools here, Horizontal Grinders and the like. Do they take the engine out and have another Engineering Co handle the skimming?

| Renault 1.9 diesel head rebuild | 30 Nov 2005 09:39 GMT | 6 |
I'm in the process of fixing a Renault 1.9 diesel engine which snapped its cambelt. It's off a K-plate Savanna. There are contact marks on two of the pistons; the follower for one of the corresponding valves is smashed to bits. The damage doesn't seem to

I've driven in snow for many years but this is the first car I've had with ABS brakes and driving in snow now feels like the ABS is increasing the stopping distance. With conventional non ABS brakes, even though they lock up I felt more confidence in braking where the tyres ...

| Seat Alhambra won't re-start | 29 Nov 2005 23:27 GMT | 11 |
My wife reversed the car off the drive and it stalled. She says it re- started once then stalled again. Now it won't start at all. The battery is healthy, turns the engine over but not a sign of firing. Where should I look first?

Hello. I do an 160 miles round trip, 3 times a week. I've been doing it do for in a 1.3 Punto, which has been OK but know it's knackered. I want to buy something second hand and cheap to replace it. I'm not bothered about what the car looks like or how it handles around a race

| Unblocking washer jet | 29 Nov 2005 12:17 GMT | 16 |
Our Pug 306 (1998) has a blocked washer jet. It has 4 jets from 2 locations (2 jets for each side). 3 of the 4 jets work fine. The other one works fine if you point it right up in the air - if you point it at the windscreen, nothing comes out. It's been like this for a year ...

| Source of clunking noise? | 29 Nov 2005 08:49 GMT | 3 |
I have an S-reg peugeot 406 which has started occasionally making a clunking noise when I change gear or accelerate suddenly. It appears to come from under either the middle or the rear-end of the car. Surely it can't be a clutch problem if the noise is coming from that ...
