Draining old antifreeze from engine block?05 Dec 2005 19:22 GMT3
I'm replacing the old antifreeze/coolant but without an engine
drain plug wasn't sure how to get all the old mix out.  According to the
book the total cooling capacity is 7ltrs with recommended 50/50 ethylene
glycol antifreeze/coolant.  I remove the radiator drain plug but only

Battery - loss of water05 Dec 2005 11:30 GMT1
Left a battery in the garage for a couple of months. When checked, I had to
top up all the cells with about a pint of water. No sign of battery case
cracked and although it took a few days to charge up properly, the
hydrometer reading is now ok.
Fiesta not charging problem, puzzling problem05 Dec 2005 09:12 GMT4
I'm getting a bit desperate now, I hope someone can help me...
I've got a Fiesta 1.8D, 1996. Earlier this week, the charge warning light
came on (well, half on) whilst driving home. It was also obvious the thing
wasn't charging, as my lights had faded by the time I got home.

Put wire inside car battery cell to measure voltage?04 Dec 2005 23:49 GMT43
I recently read the following extract below which explains how to
test a car battery by putting stiff wires right into the cells and
measuring the voltage.
I'm attracted by this method because I do not have a hydrometer to
ECU problems in Skoda Felicia 1.604 Dec 2005 16:52 GMT13
I have a 1996 Skoda Felicia 1.6 GLX (VW engine). Lately the engine had
been stalling, after which it would be difficult to restart. Sometimes
the car would stutter while driving. Another worrying sign was that the
ventilator fan seemed to be overworking. These symptoms would come ...

I'm going to murder him...04 Dec 2005 01:35 GMT2
As in the pr**k that placed an aircon hose directly in front of the vacuum
servo on a Focus.
Degas and regas the system just to take the sodding thing out? Anyone got
any other way to do this - there doesn't appear to be any way of getting it
When to replace a dinged windscreen?03 Dec 2005 18:11 GMT57
My V70 windscreen caught a flying stone over the weekend.  Was a hard
hit at 70 mph.  It's left a mark which is about a 2mm circle with a
smaller 1mm one just above it.  It's smack bang in the middle of the screen.
So does this mean the screen needs replacing ?  Has it weakened it ...
Rover 214 Fast tickover03 Dec 2005 16:14 GMT3
I have just had my head gasket replaced and since then my tickover has
been spordically quite high around 1500rpm, it will sometimes come down to
800 but then rise again even when hot.
Any ideas please. Water obviously got into the engine when the gasket
New Honda Jazz and rear doorseal water leak.03 Dec 2005 15:55 GMT2
I've got a current model Honda Jazz. Water leaks in through the top
horizontal doorseal of both rear doors.
The door seals have been replaced (by the supplying dealer) but the leak is
still there. The dealer says he has also adjusted the fit of the rear doors.
