vauxhall mk3 diesel 1.7 - hard starting23 Dec 2005 16:37 GMT10
got a problem starting in that if its left standing for a few days, it
will not start easily, even after allowing glow plugs to go out, "seizes
whilst turning over, prior to firing.. I suspect water seeping into the
cylinders.
A little bit of friendly advice23 Dec 2005 13:41 GMT19
I do a web site for an open cast mining / regeneration scheme and when on
site I have to wear one of these high visibility yellow jackets. Normally I
keep it in the boot but since I got my car MOTd during the week and managed
to salvage one of my tyres, that has been in the boot ...
Getting Head Gasket replaced on Punto23 Dec 2005 10:00 GMT3
After my previous post entitled "Overfilled Coolant on Fiat Punto", I
have determined that as suspected there was something more sinister
behind the reason I needed to add water to the beast.  Yes, it seems the
head gasket has gone.

Went to the garage yesterday because I noticed there was some wheel
wobble at about 70mph.
They took the front wheels off and, to my surprise, the inside edge of
the drivers side was completely shredded (down to the wire!!!). Other

My '94 Golf 1.8 CL petrol has just passed 100,000 and having owned it for
the last year, I thought I should get the belts checked.
I phoned my local VW dealer and they said replacement of the belt(s) would
be 225 UKP!
Vectra Dashboard Lights22 Dec 2005 17:54 GMT10
Vauxhall Vectra 1999 LS 1.8. The illumination on the panel which shows
the time radio date etc.  just to the left of the main dash panel  has
suddenly gone all black- as if a lamp in it has fused or summit or could
it be more serious ? I have had the fuses checked and I have been ...
Nissan Almera 04' Service.22 Dec 2005 15:03 GMT1
This is my first car and on the off chance I decided to call my dealer
where I bought the car with 2yr 3 months of warranty left. To see when
they would contact me to confirm service was needed. They said 'oh we
sometimes do this , anyway you've done 9000 miles so your due one, 28
Ford Ka - Reading Oil Level22 Dec 2005 14:09 GMT11
Just topped up a Ford Ka with Oil.
It was at the bottom of the dipstick range so I glugged a bit of oil in
then paused to check the dipstick.
I just couldn't read it. After wiping the dipstick and putting it back
Mk 4 Fiesta Rear wiper22 Dec 2005 11:27 GMT11
Having solved the over rev we move on to the next question:
The rear wipe on my 1998 Fiesta works only intermittently.  Sometimes it's
fine, other times it doesn't move at all and sometimes it will work with a
_very_ gentle push (as if it's not getting enough current to move on ...
Warranty on new cambelt22 Dec 2005 11:27 GMT13
Further to the thread below (Inspect/change belts, my question concerns who
is liable if a cambelt breaks within the specified change period - 80K or
whatever, or is it just one of those things after the statutory warranty for
a new part?
Overfilled Coolant on Fiat Punto22 Dec 2005 10:41 GMT13
Stupidly overfilled the coolant on my Punto (R-reg) this morning (with
antifreeze) to well above the max line (pretty much to the top of the
plastic overflow reservoir).  I was wondering if:
1) It would be a bad thing to run the car.  The plastic reservoir does

Can I get a Ford 2006RDS radio to tell me it's code?21 Dec 2005 19:58 GMT4
I bought a Mondeo recently with a Ford 2006 RDS radio fitted. I'm about to
replace it with an all singing all dancing one, but I want to keep the Ford
one just in case...
I don't have the code for it. Since it's currently still in the car and
