Mother-in-law's got a Toyota Corolla T3 and just recently a hole has
appeared in the driver's-side rear light lens which is now letting in water.
Light cluster itself is still ok, and the lights are still working.
Where's the best place to get just the lens cover for the light ...
Rover 216 questions11 Dec 2005 01:08 GMT7
I've just picked up a K-plate Rover 216SLi as a replacement for the dead
Renault (see other thread).  Not in bad nick for £200, there are a few
niggles though:
1) Cambelt.  I'm going to change this one right away as there's no
1.25l Zetec-S over revving - what next?10 Dec 2005 23:08 GMT9
Thanks for al the advice so far.  I have now changed both the Idle Control
Valve and the Throttle Position Sensor on the engine in my 1.25l Zetec
Fiesta Ghia.  I used new Ford parts in both cases.  The over-revving on idle
problem is still there bad as ever.  It never happens ...

The M reg 306 my grandson has bought has had the heater matrix bypassed
.... they just cut through the two pipes and put a bit of linking tube
in as the bypass (which came apart due to it being tapered and the
Jubilee clip not being tight enough .... result engine seizure and a
Petrol Ruined Common Rail Diesels10 Dec 2005 21:11 GMT15
I wondered how many modern common rail diesels go in for part exchange,
or through auction, as a   direct consequence of fueling with petrol?
Given that some makes can seemingly face a bill of several thousand
pounds for rectification, or the uncertainty of something like the fuel
Stop Petrol in Diesel tank10 Dec 2005 10:28 GMT30
When I was about two years old back in 1937

'93 Cavalier squeaky heater.10 Dec 2005 10:04 GMT4
I think it's the heater, anyway. A loud squeaky noise comes
from somewhere apparently behind the speedo (etc.) when the
fan's on. Is there a way to lubricate or otherwise fix this
so that it works without squeaking, without taking (too many)
Get Out Of My Car! 10 Dec 2005 09:40 GMT2
Watch this little old lady get her car back from a bunch of thugs! I
wouldn't
be surprised if this hasn't happened already in some of the more
self-reliant areas of our Country. (Sorry, this doesn't include Kerry or
MK5 Golf temp slow....10 Dec 2005 07:22 GMT4
Any viewers here have a prob with the engine taking a long time to reach
'normal' temp?
Today was 6c outside and the engine took more than 25 mins to reach temp,
Even when it has been below 0c the engine took a few mins to reach temp.
Astra X Reg: Dipped Lights too low09 Dec 2005 21:16 GMT12
Sorry if this is a dumb question! My (recent) X reg Astra has good main
beam lights, however when I use the dipped lights, they seem to be too
low - its almost like driving without lights. There is no illumination
beyond 10 meters in front of the car and I believe they need to be

Citroen ZX Avantage windscreen etc09 Dec 2005 14:02 GMT1
A very old mate of mine recently passed on his M reg Citroen for £200, in
the genuine belief that I'd have good use of it.
However, I've found the wiper has scratched the windscreen, which smears
lights at night. I suspect this is because the wiper moves as soon as you

Call me an idiot as I've been kicking myself all day. I know this is an auto
group but I've gotten great advice on here before and I'm hoping some
masterwrencher will know about mowers as well...
This morning I went to use my riding craftsman mower and put about a half
