Dodgy clutch(?) on 97Astra11 Jan 2006 13:39 GMT15

I hope you can point me in the right direction.
I think the clutch on my elderly astra is slipping, on the motor way I
sometimes see the revs increasing without any corresponding increase in
Lost charger wire for jumpstarter, any adaptor do?11 Jan 2006 10:11 GMT6
I have lost the charger wire for my jumpstart pack. Would a standard
power plug thing with the right adaptor do the same job ok? The ones
where u can select the voltage from 3v to 12v and it comes with a
selection of plug adaptors. It fit ok and the charger charge light
Diesel performance booster?10 Jan 2006 17:36 GMT7
I have a Nissan Almera 2.2 SDi, and when I first got it a year ago it was
pretty nippy.
It's got 64K on it, 2000X plate (UK), but it seems to be less responsive
now.
1995 Corsa 1.2i Petrol - Camshaft Flywheel10 Jan 2006 14:46 GMT15
Having a go at changing the head gasket on my Corsa, thought I'd change
the timing belt at the same time (someone before me has also cut away
most of the rear of the timing belt cover so that will have to be
replaced too!).  Having prblems getting the flyweel off though, the one
Peugeot 306XT cambelt.10 Jan 2006 13:34 GMT2
I'm going to look at a Peugeot 306XT (1769cc.) tomorrow.  It appears to
be cheap ATM, but I expect to discover that it needs a new cambelt.  Is that
going to be a straightforward job?  What might be the likely cost?
TIA of any replies.
Corsa rear brake pipes10 Jan 2006 00:17 GMT1
I've had a battle with the load sensor valve on my Corsa. I've had to
chop the brake pipes off as they were seized at the 4 unions. My
questions are:
1) Which is the best course of action- renew all the four brake pipes
Volvo 440 idle problem09 Jan 2006 23:10 GMT2
A few weeks ago on a cold morning the idle revs went down to about 500 then
up to 2000, and continued to pulse between the two. The problem went away
but has now reoccured, but as well as pulsing between 500 and 2000 rpm it
sometimes sticks at 2500 rpm. The car is a 1994 model and ...

Performance Enhancer Resistor?09 Jan 2006 19:58 GMT4
I see that several people are selling resistors that they claim enhance
the bhp of any petrol car with fuel injection system from 1988 onwards.
Has anyone tried one of these and if so what was the outcome?
Ford Ka suspension bush09 Jan 2006 19:49 GMT7
My Ka's just failed its MOT on play in top suspension bush. The top
mounting of the strut appears to be a rubber cup pointing upwards on
the underside of the chassis, and a similar one pointing downwards on
the topside. When the car is jacked up allowing the top mounting to

Rover Metro fuel efficiency09 Jan 2006 17:44 GMT11
How does the Rover Metro compare to other small cars..
I'm finding fuel costs high, but that may just be the high prices.
I have a high performance SLI effect efficiency.
But I'd be interested to see how my car compares to others...

Timing belt on Fiesta: when to get changed?09 Jan 2006 14:54 GMT44
I have a Fiesta Si 1.25 Zetec, 1998, which has done about 76,000 miles.
The Haynes manual I have for it says get the timing belt done at 100k. Is
this still a reasonable mileage to get it replaced or have things changed
since the book was published?
