Need a new set for my Mk 6 Escort but can't seem to find any. Anyone
know where I might get some.
None on EBay
Hyundai keys; no problem just puzzled...24 Jan 2006 08:24 GMT8
The newly aquired 98 Accent Coupe came with a blue-handled key and two black
ones; both black ones would unlock the doors but not lock them, ( they can,
of course, be locked on the button )  the blue key would lock & unlock
doors; all keys work in the ignition.

VW Golf Intermittent Wiper Relay23 Jan 2006 20:12 GMT1
Which model Golf has the driver set variable delay intermittent wipers?
Where's the relay located?
I want to be able to get one from a breakers for my 1985 Saab 900 as,
apparently, it's a straight swap which gives the rather neat delay set up.
MOT and re-test question23 Jan 2006 19:23 GMT15
Most of the garages in my area gave a free re-test if you brought the
vehicle back with 14 days of the original test.
It seems, from anecdotal evidence,  that since "computerisation" of the test
these stations no longer offer such a re-test.  I am aware that the rules
Saab 93 headlamp wipers23 Jan 2006 19:06 GMT3
Both headlamp wipers move only intermittently stopping at any odd position
Seems odd as I assume that they are separate units for each headlight
I am thinking power supply problem but cannot find a relay in the fuse unit
I guess that I will need to remove each headlight and check ...
Thermostat failure23 Jan 2006 17:14 GMT6
Is there any way of preventing a thermostat failing or is it just bad luck.
I have a Primera with 39,000 1998 2.0SLX which failed and warped the head.
I suspect this may be due to the car spending long periods unused in a
garage (previous owner rarely used it)  My previous Nissan ...

Garage labour charges?23 Jan 2006 14:56 GMT21
All,
This should open a can of worms in the group.
I've always been a DIY man and I've just acquired a Skoda Felicia which has
developed a fault on the engine (VAG). Now I need to take this to a 'garage'
Cam belt change...cost23 Jan 2006 14:00 GMT7
Looking to change the cambelt on a 1.9 diesel engine (Normally
aspirated, non HDi) on the Berlingo in the next six months.
Won't have time to do it myself so will have to take it somewhere.
How much am I looking at spending?
Fan woes23 Jan 2006 12:11 GMT3
Having probs with my fan, in Rover metro 96.
The car was overheating due to water pipes being wrongly fitted. Now fine.
The thermostat was replaced, perhaps old one damaged due to overheating.
Fan switch replaced, but fan doesn't work. I tested the fan manually
Vosa  MOT's and Certificates23 Jan 2006 09:01 GMT7
Are all the Vosa MOT stations linked to a central computer ?
Today, I had my first MOT done on my three year old Astra.
Unfortunately the garage made a mistake and put the incorrect
mileage on certificate, adding 17,000 ( not amused).

screen washer solution22 Jan 2006 20:43 GMT3
Rather OT, but I went into a local filling station to get some AAA
batteries tonight and noticed they were selling Halfords screen wash. A
pallet of the 5 litre ones by the door. There's a Halfords about a 1/4
mile away. Must check up on the prices...
