Black crud in oil cap.28 Mar 2006 23:23 GMT5
Went to look at a cheap run-a-round which has not been started for
several weeks.  The battery is flat and will need charging so I've not
yet heard it running, but removing the oil cap there was a lot of
hardened black crud inside the cap. The rocker looked clear and there
Interior lights Citroen BX19GTI28 Mar 2006 23:11 GMT11
Interior light not working on any door switch.   There is a relay or
timer in the circuits which delay the switch off for a period after the
door is closed.
Obtained a replacement for the one located in the steering column cover
Mondeo TDCI 130 - reprogramming/chipping28 Mar 2006 22:40 GMT5
I've a Mondeo TDCI that's been reprogrammed by Ford in an attempt to get rid
of stuttering at 1800-2000rpm, but to no avail.
Has anyone had one of these chipped or reprogrammed and managed to get rid
of this problem?
No rumbles28 Mar 2006 22:37 GMT4
Saturday started out nice so I took off a couple of wheels from the pug.
Everything looked OK and there was a reasonable amount of stopping stuff
left on the pads.
I lifted it up the rest of the way onto the bigger axle stands and then

Ford focus heater motor28 Mar 2006 18:43 GMT6
On a 2001 Ford Focus interior heater / blower I notice that...
The volume of air supplied is very low until I hit the interior air re
circulation button. THEN the volume of air doubles.
I suspect a partial block in the exterior air inlet, or a problem with
Thermostat Done28 Mar 2006 00:33 GMT5
Well, maybe it's the weather that's just changed, but so far, so good.
The new thermostat seems to be working pretty well. Temperatures
remaining constant on the dash, where as before, it was up and down and
all over the place. Which is weird, since the thermostat I removed had

Play in steering rack27 Mar 2006 23:19 GMT2
Recent mot (1996 rover 420) advisory notes list 'play in steering rack'
- I've noticed the steering feels slighty sloppy. Is this simple to
remedy?

If it is not mail order, somewhere between Dorset and Surrey would be ideal.

Headlights and idle speed27 Mar 2006 17:28 GMT18
My 205 GTi exhibits the oft-documented issue where the idle speed
decreases when the headlights are on.  I'd say it loses about 100rpm
although it's hard to be exact as it's hunting.  :)
I can get around this by setting the idle when everything is switched on
