After blowing the head gasket at the end of last year and then getting
it replaced.

1.7DTi, but I'm alarmed by its total lack of maintainability - I can't

I have and 1996 P reg Vauxhall Astra 1.6 GLSi  the rear end of the
exhaust seems to make a weird puffing sound(hard to explain). This
sound is not there when you first turn the car on and only starts up
after a little while or if you rev the car, you can then hear it all

The 1993 diesel pug has grumbly brakes when you apply them hard. The
thing rattles a bit and the pedal vibrates. No noises that would worry
me just the brakes being a bit finicky. I did a couple of laps of the
local bypass this evening with as much hard braking as I could manage

Please help!! My girlfriend had to brake suddenly & had absolutely no
brakes (Foot to floor) luckily she managed to mount the pavement and go
round the vehicle. Upon stopping using the handbrake a kind gentleman
witnessed what happened and removed the vehicle from the roadside, ...
