Tow bar for 1999 Fiesta 1.2506 Apr 2006 21:28 GMT1
I'm confused. I used to have a tow bar on a Fiesta Classic 1990 no
problems.
However I'm confused about the 1.25LX 1999
Towsure states Ford do not recommend towing with 1.3 or 1.25 models
Brava non-starter06 Apr 2006 19:51 GMT9
Fiat Brava 75 1.9TD
When I switch the ignition on the glow plug warning light on the dash
doesn't come on.  The plugs don't heat up and the car won't start. If I
squirt some quick-start down the hose after the air filter it starts and
"leaking" alloy wheels?06 Apr 2006 16:38 GMT20
Do alloy wheels "leak" air?
I've never had the "luxury" (?!) of having alloy wheels on a car before
and have found that I have to keep topping up the air in all 4 tyres
every few days.
Coolant pressuriseing on over drive06 Apr 2006 01:23 GMT12
I have a query on my car coolant circuit, every time the throttle is snapped
close from about 3000 rpm there is a small burst of bubbles in the header
tank.  The garrage have done the block test and the fluid stayed blue. There
is deffiantely something pumping up pressure and ...
Engine bay squeal when cold06 Apr 2006 01:16 GMT1
As topic,
For the first 2 mins or so of driving/running, when the revs go over approx
2500rpm a high-pitched squeal is heard which increases in pitch and volume
with engine speed. After a couple of minutes it disappears and doesn't
What has happened to engineering shops?05 Apr 2006 22:42 GMT9
Been doing some work on my old mans Morris Minor as the headgasket
blew.
Needed to replace a couple of posts that hold the rockershaft in place
as one is slightly bent and another had a dodgy thread so took it to my
Alloy wheel refurb around Sheffield?05 Apr 2006 18:53 GMT3
Anyone know a decent alloy refurb place around Sheff? Preferably able to do
diamond cut on the rims and powder coating so that they last well, and
cheap. The wheels are 15" BBS cross spoke things.
odd stall05 Apr 2006 18:42 GMT3
1999 Pug 106 1.1 petrol.  Has happened twice now that, pulling away
after..the only thing I can think is 'slowing down' (once after bearing
right at a roundabout and once turning right, without stopping, both in
2nd at about 15-20), there's a total loss of power no matter what I do
Crappy Cavs05 Apr 2006 15:28 GMT3
Can someone, anyone, tell me why Vauxhall decided to put the fanbelt behind
a bloody engine mount on the mk3 Cav?
And then why a succession of mechanics failed to notice the old belt was as
close to rubber as Pluto is to a tropical paradise. Including the mechanic
Primera again05 Apr 2006 11:09 GMT11
Simon Dean said:-
Only problems now, I have no power. I can cruise fine. Absolutely no
problems cruising at say 80, 90 mph even. Light accelerating, is fine,
you know, gradually increasing the throttle, but anymore than half
Things not to do when changing oil.05 Apr 2006 10:46 GMT51
After congratulating yourself that you diddn't spill a drop when
draining, forget that there is plenty in an oil filter to drain all over
you.
Vauxhall Zafira gearbox problems05 Apr 2006 09:32 GMT6
2000 2.0 Dti Zafira. First gear only difficult to engage at best,
impossible at worst. Linkage cables replaced and selector on outside of
gearbox lubed at dealer suggestion, to no avail. Could it be lack of
gear oil or perhaps internal first gear selector? thanks
Looking for a Fulmen FX22 battery05 Apr 2006 00:21 GMT12
I think I need to replace the battery on my oh-so-chic beige Rialto.
It took a hell of a lot of finding last time, because the battery
which is normally listed for the Robin and Rialto doesn't fit mine:
the battery tray is deep and moulded in fibreglass, so no oversize
Vauxhall Astra LS 1.4 16V Starts to judder around 2500 rpm04 Apr 2006 23:04 GMT8
I recently bought a V reg (1999) Astra, its great, drives well. There
is however a small problem, every now and again when cruising at a set
speed (usually around 30-40) the car starts to judder and bounce, if
you put the acceleration down abit further the juddering stops and
Scenic loss of engine speed after rain...04 Apr 2006 23:03 GMT3
I own a Renault scenic we experienced an inability to go at more than
about 5mph. The engine switches on and runs but when the accelerator is
depressed the the revs rise and then fall back at about 1200 rpm. The
car is a 1.9DTI when going uphill the problem can clear and the car
