I have a N plate 3.0 litre V6 and the electrics have always been a
little fragile, blow fuses for no apparent reason, variety of warning
light malfunctions that would appear and disappear just as quickly. As
with the other malfunctions this one (Air Bag Warning Light) just
Cause of high carbon monoxide emissions?22 Apr 2006 11:46 GMT7
Got a 1994 2L 16v Omega which failed the MOT today on emissions.
0.52% on the first fast idle test, and 0.37 on the second. Failure is
anything above 0.3%.
HCs were fine at 75ppm, and 53ppm respectively (200 max), as was Lambda at
A4 weird idle21 Apr 2006 20:15 GMT3
'96 A4 1.8 (non-turbo), 129k.  When idling the revs bounce back and
forth between 500 and 1100 rpm for around ten seconds before settling
back to the proper level.  I'd have thought any idle control problems
would mean the revs never settle?  Any ideas?

wiping WD40 on the paintwork all over his car.It looks clean and shiny but
is he doing any damage to the paint on his car? I would ask him but don't
really know him and don't want to seem nosey I'm just ...

Can I Disable Citroen C5 Economy Mode21 Apr 2006 10:55 GMT13
Just got a 55 reg 1.6HDi C5 and am getting really annoyed with the
"Economy Mode" which decides it will turn off the radio after the
engine has been stopped for 30 minutes.
Starting the engine briefly will allow it to be turned on again, but
Blue Subaru = Gold hub caps21 Apr 2006 10:04 GMT29
Why? Just why? Went all the way from the south of england to scotland and I
saw about 6-7 different blue subarus with customised gold hub caps and
spoilers - what is it with these people?
2000 Fiesta 1.25 Zetec21 Apr 2006 09:54 GMT4
Having a run on problem which I was hoping someone could tell me the cause
of. For example when I stop at traffic lights or a road junction the rev
counter sits at 2000 revs for a few seconds before dropping down to normal
tickover of around 950 to 1000revs. Anyone got and idea ...
2 most vulnerable parts of the modern car engine21 Apr 2006 08:39 GMT32
1. cambelt when fitted is a glaring vulnerabillity.  Bit like the insulation
on the Space Shuttle! (will go sometime but when?)  I know you should change
at regular intervals but this info gets lost on 2nd hand cars-and the result
is just too serious (replace engine unless you're ...
Brake disc removal20 Apr 2006 21:52 GMT16
Anyone got any tips for getting brake discs off? They seem to have corroded
themselves onto the hub in a big way. I've twatted away at them from the
back with a hammer (bit difficult to get a good swing because of working
under the wing, I don't have access to a ramp) but they ...
