Zafira Spare Cable20 Apr 2006 14:31 GMT5
I have been wiring up a towbar on my 2002 2.2 Zafira and was trying to find
where the trailor/caravan pre-wired supply ended up.
I found where the cable was terminated (in the passenger footwell multiplug
if anyone is ever wiring one up) but also found another cable I cannot
Annual Car Service: Dealer or Independent?20 Apr 2006 11:50 GMT4
I have just bought my first car/van (2000 Citroen Berlingo Multispace).
It has a full Service history and looking back through the log book it
all seems to have been done by a Citroen dealer. I would like to keep
it in good shape as my last car, bought by my parents, was slightly

I was doing 90+ in the wife's Ford Fiesta over the bank holiday for
approx 1 hour coming back on the motorway. The poor car now has an
alarming shudder to the steering wheel when driving at low speeds
around town and I have to keep both hands on the wheel to stop it from
Built in obsolescence20 Apr 2006 00:41 GMT10
I remember years ago being told that cars had built in obsolescence
with built in failure points. , e.g. they had specific areas of the
body that were designed to rust.
Nowadays, with cars generally being made more reliable (but not

Help with a Mondeo Clutch!!19 Apr 2006 21:33 GMT12
I've got a V reg 2L Mondeo with 96K on the clock and I think it's
clutch is dead - but I'm far from an expert.
The car drives fine in 1st and 2nd gears, but in 3rd upwards, it seems
to rev very easily between 3K and 3K RPM. It seems to rev easily, with
Trackers19 Apr 2006 21:05 GMT7
Does anyone have any knowledge of tracker systems?  It seems I might be
required to have one fitted and although it's early days I noticed that
the online insurance quote systems have lots of models to choose from.
It appeared (this was with Directline) that the quote didn't ...
Volkswagen servicing near Staines?19 Apr 2006 20:22 GMT7
Can anyone recommend somewhere to get my 2002 golf estate serviced.
Have just bought it from CarGiant and it hasn't been serviced for 2
years.
It has a warrenty so I guess it needs to be a 'proper' garage - unless
Replacing brake fluid.19 Apr 2006 19:37 GMT15
I'm about to carry out a full two year service on my Rover 75 diesel. The
service requires the brake fluid to be replaced. No problem except for the
fact that when I am *replacing* brake fluid (rather than just 'bleeding' the
brakes), I never really know how many 'pumps' on the ...
Door seal de-sticker?19 Apr 2006 18:02 GMT4
The door seals on the sliding doors of my Citroen Synergie have become ever
so slightly tacky making it difficult to open the doors if they've not been
opened for a day or two.
Is there anything that's non-greasy or messy that I can apply to stop them
Ambient temperature display on Vauxhall Astra (52 Reg - 2003)19 Apr 2006 13:36 GMT4
On my car (Vahuxhal Astra) I have a temperature display on the dashboard
that shows the outside ambient temperature.
I'm sure it's faulty as for the last few mornings it's been stuck on 19
degrees ....come to think of it - it's been like that all over winter!
Best place for van tyres in SW UK?19 Apr 2006 12:22 GMT3

Montego non-starter19 Apr 2006 07:29 GMT3
Hacked off somewhat - petrol Montego estate won't start, turns over but
doesn't "spark". Have eliminated damp, changed the distributor cap, checked
the battery, made sure there's fuel........what else could it be?
Yours in desperation (I need it for the weekend), with thanks
