Mother in law has a W plate 1.216v Agila. The engine management warning light is on. Local vauxhall dealer have said ECU needs replacing and identified fault code P0141. ECU is over £500. Anyone have any other suggestions before we go ahead?

I'm changing the rear brake drums and bearings on my Saxo (1.5D, late 1999 model [people keep asking is it Mk1 or Mk2 and I've no bloody idea], Bendix braking system, 4 stud wheels, 180mm diameter drums). What I've been supplied with by Euro Car Parts to put on, is not identical

The starter is turning the motor over and I'm getting a spark at the plugs. I can smell petrol in the cylinder when the plug is removed. Plenty of petrol in the tank. Took the oil filler cap off and I can see the upper timing chain turning the camshaft but it just doesn't want to

The Pug is starting to grow on me. Gutless wonder that it is. It decided not to bother waiting in the queue for optional extras. It has revealed its problems slowly enough that I haven't felt like I've been forking out continually to put things right.
