Has anyone got any advice regarding the removal of these without the adapter
"socket"?
I seem to have lost mine after I had to bag my car's contents prior to it

Rwindow wiper, boot, heated rewindow, fog light problem (ford escort Mk 6)06 May 2006 22:45 GMT4
I have just replaced both my contact plate and also the 3 pin switch that
has retracting brass pins, this is the one which is situated on the hatch of
the 5 door MK 6 escort.
I replaced them as I was having problems with the rear windscreen wiper not
Tyre rotational direction. Does it matter?06 May 2006 22:12 GMT14
Just fitted my spare tyre and noticed that it's got an arrow in the
sidewall.  Sod's law dictates of course that it's currently on the "wrong"
side of the car.
Does it matter?  (FWIW, my car ain't no hot rod, it's a people carrier).
Mitsubishi Galant ABS06 May 2006 20:25 GMT21
The ABS warning light on the dash of my girlfriend's 'M' plate manual
2WD Mitsubishi Galant GLSi is continuously illuminated. The handbook
just says, "take it to a Mitsubishi mechanic." Can anyone tell me what
the continuous illumination of this light may mean, in both mechanical ...
Stopping a Rear Crankshaft Oil seal leak.06 May 2006 16:31 GMT4
Hi all, Are there any reliable additives that might slow or stop a rear
crankshaft oil seal leak?
Its on an old Cf 1979 Bedford deisel van, and its more of a slow drip than a
leak.
Fiesta turns left by itself06 May 2006 15:22 GMT2
I've just had my Fiesta serviced at a Ford dealer that I haven't used
before. They replaced the lower suspension arm on the driiver's side, and I
suspect they didn't check the tracking afterwards, because:
1) When the car is going in a straight line, the steering wheel is now
Vauxhall Vectra - Replacing Battery Sets off Alarm06 May 2006 14:47 GMT12
I'm doing a friend a favour. Her car battery is flat, so I've charged
it up. Now, when I fit it, as soon as both terminals are connected the
car alarm starts off. How can I switch it off? She's not sure how. I've
looked in groups, and can't find out how. I do have the key, but I

I have a 2004 Mercedes 220 which has a fuel tank with a capacity of
about 85 litres (it's supposd to run on diesel). Due to someone
frigging around at the station yesterday (not me), that fuel tank now
has about 76 litres of diesel in it and about 9 litres of regular
Aircon05 May 2006 21:20 GMT13
The aircon in our 156 doesn't appear to be as cold as I remembered it
last summer..... and yes, we have run it more or less constantly over
the winter before anyone asks.
Has anyone had any success with the DIY refil kits, or should I stay

Misfiring Omega - unable to diagnose05 May 2006 09:46 GMT3
Got a misfiring '99 Vauxhall Omega 2.5.
The engine was smooth and stable until it was started last Tuesday when it
suddenly started misfiring. At idle, it seemed to be ticking over on 5
cylinders. Being driven, it would hold-back, then surge repreatedly under
Non-starter motor05 May 2006 08:34 GMT6
This has happened three times since I've had my 205 and today it cost me
a trip to Manchester for the football.  Still, Ljungberg just scored.
Symptoms are that the car doesn't turn over.  All three times it has
been hot.  When I turn the key to start, there is a quiet humming sound ...
I'm Doomed  (the Damn Pinch Bolt sheared) !!!05 May 2006 07:53 GMT8
Evening All
I am thinking of pushing my 1997 Mondeo Ghia X off a cliff !
With the arrival of computerised MOT tests, I was highly embarrassed to
have a test fail happen for the first time in 15 years of driving! The
