Say may tax disc runs out out the 30th June if I renew it in June the

I have a 1999 micra and at the moment when i put on my brakes my side
lights also come on, and when my full beam is on you can hardly see my

This has, er, had, a grid just in front of the fuel tank on the fuel
line. I've been told it's a cooler to cool the diesel in the fuel line.
Is that right? And if so, why does the diesel need to be cooled?
