Air mass meters.  Whats inside them that could cause a fire, if anything`?11 Jul 2006 20:31 GMT15
I ask because I happen to ride red fire engines for a living.  I went
to a car fire a few days ago that was an 04 reg 1.9td (some other
initials) Vectra.  The fire was small and only in the area of the air
filter box.  It *appeared* to originate from the mass sensor; the

Ford Fiesta (96N) Accelerator slows engine down?11 Jul 2006 19:34 GMT1
Recently, my petrol 1.25 ford fiesta has developed an unusual fault -
for the first few minutes after the car has started, the engine revs as
normal (~900-1000 rpm), but if on pressing the accelerator at all, the
engine revs drop very low (to ~250) and the car shakes but does not
Zafira dasboard lights cut out11 Jul 2006 19:04 GMT5
Got a strange fault with the lights on our 2000 Zafira 1.8 - when the
headlights are turned on the dashboard lights go off so can't see the
instruments - but they come back on as soon as the headlights are
turned off.
Air mass meter innards11 Jul 2006 17:41 GMT5
I have a problem with an old Nissan, it keeps triggering limp home
mode and the fault code shows the airflow meter at fault.
I tested it with a dmm and it seemed to be working but I have just
tried substituting one of a the same make but different diameter. This

Airbag and warranty problem10 Jul 2006 20:01 GMT8
My girlfriend bought a Peugeot 206 4 months ago from a Peugeot main dealer.
The car was used (14 months old) but had just been owned by the garage as a
courtesy car.
A couple of weeks ago she noticed that the glove box wasn't closing
Mondeo fast idle help pls10 Jul 2006 19:42 GMT20
Hi - any ideas on my 1999 Mondeo 2.0 idle?
Just bought the car. Garage cleaned butterfly area as throttle was sticky.
Now find idle at standstill is steady 1100rpm, when moving idle increases to
nearly 2k. eg if parked on hill, idle is 1100, take handbrake off & roll in
Escort headlight assembly replacement10 Jul 2006 19:08 GMT1
Could anyone give me a hand with details of how to exchange the
headlight assembly in a 1990 Ford Escort?
The bulbs and connectors are easily removed, as are the adjustment
plate nearest the grill, and the "-o-" shaped locking lug into the side
Volvo V70 noise10 Jul 2006 18:57 GMT4
Our 2001 Volvo V70 has just started making a whining/clattering sort of
noise with the ignition on but not with the engine on. it seems to be
coming from the front nearside area of the engine compartment, in front
of the fuse box area by an air assembly of some sort. It is some sort ...
britannia rescue v.s AA/RAC10 Jul 2006 14:20 GMT26
Away from home, diesel Focus cut out suddenly and I saw that
the temp guage was off the scale.
No water. When engine cooled down as fast as I poured it in,
it poured out from bottom back left hand side of engine.
Deadlocks - how do they work?10 Jul 2006 13:08 GMT4
My dad's new car has deadlocks. As far as I can tell, all this means is that
the lock pips are flush with the door card when the door's locked, and that
they're unlocked using the central locking motors via a signal from a
microswitch that's triggered when you pull the door ...
Skoda Felicia tailgate compatibility10 Jul 2006 12:11 GMT5
Anyone know whether the tailgates of the Skoda Felicia estate and saloon are
identical? Mine (1998 1.9D estate) has developed a nasty rust patch around
the rear windscreen and there's no way it's going to fill happily. (I'm
sh*te at filling and spraying anyway.) Saloons are ...

Hi i have a persistent fault with a Citroen cx 2.5turbo 2.  The fault is
just like an air leak causing too weak a mixture.  I have tried the wd40
