Peogeot 306 no hot idle10 Jul 2006 07:09 GMT5
I usually avoid anything French, but an old friend has asked me to look at
her 306 petrol.  it idles ok from cold but no idle when warm.
When it comes in I will check for obvious things like vacuum leaks, loose
connectors etc.  but what next?  coolant temp sender? crank sensor?

neutral it just rev's. Occurs anytime. Bit of a strange problem.
Happened a few times since the first about a month ago. Have it booked into
a garage just need to drop it off Monday.
Citroen AX Debut 1993 - Replacing the Speedo Cable.09 Jul 2006 21:39 GMT2
Just thought I'd share my experience of this with the great wide
world...  this may be relevant to other Citroen models or indeed
Pergeot etc, as these small French cars from this period all fairly
similar and often take the same speedo cable parts.
Slow pulling away09 Jul 2006 16:15 GMT6
I have a 1.9 TDI Renault Laguna, the problem I have is that it has become
slow at pulling away until the Turbo kicks in at about 2000 revs
This problem is worse when cold, it smokes as the revs get higher, the smoke
is a grey/blue colour. The car has just been given a full service.

Punto blue key08 Jul 2006 20:52 GMT2
Cheapest place for a Fiat Punto blue key blank ?
Dealer wants 40 odd £  which then needs to be cut.
I have 1 blue key and the red master so the programming
of the second blue shouldn't be a problem.
Still learning.08 Jul 2006 18:14 GMT3
I swear my Pug is trying to teach me all of the skills of mechanical
work easy cheap stages.
Today, the clutch cable snapped. It was kind and snapped outside the Pug
dealer in Lutterworth. The Pug dealer wasn't so kind and didn't have one

bmw 635 starting problem08 Jul 2006 17:32 GMT4
I have a problem with my 6 series. There is fuel getting to the engine
and there is a spark at the plugs, but i have great difficulty starting
it. After further investigation i found a component situated at right
angles to the air intake pipe between the air filter and engine (
Car ramp problem08 Jul 2006 16:22 GMT4

the car on top of them :)
They're the Halfords own brand and are fairly typical. The max tyre size
Will running engine stationary charge up battery?08 Jul 2006 13:00 GMT51
Will running the car in neutral with the engine running charge up the
battery? How long will it take to charge it/top it up on a vehicle
that has been standing?
Amp battery drain08 Jul 2006 12:52 GMT8
After not driving for a few days, I've just come back to a flat battery.
This never used to happen before installing a stereo amplifier,
although of course it could be a coincidence.  The amp spends most of
its life in a standby mode, as there is a cable from the head unit ...
