This might seem like a stupid question, but can anyone tell me the
reason why the instructions for using jump leads, all specifically say
you should connect the black lead to a good earthing point on the car
that needs to be jump started, rather than directly to its negative

The other day I was driving and on braking the pedal went to the floor
with almost no resistance. I stopped for a while and the problem seemed
to rectify itself. I had the car checked in a garage but they could
find no fault with the brake system.

I've got a few dents in a couple of my doors (supermarket trolley etc),
and also a dent in the rear pillar. Been looking into various companies
that perform the paintless removal, and I'm looking for some info about
various costs that people have been changed.
