| ford fiesta engine warning light | 23 Jul 2006 13:32 GMT | 2 |
My ford fiesta engine warning light stays on constantly. The manual just advises me to take it to a ford dealer. I spoke with one who said it was probably a faulty sensor or the computer needs resetting. The car is a 51 plate very low mileage and is running fine.

have a 2001 peugeot 206, and the driver door is getting very difficult to shut- sounds like metal on metal as it crunches back from fully open. Any idea where to start without taking the door off - or does it come off easily?

It's a 2003 Ghia X with the Sony system which holds six discs. I unloaded all the discs to replace them this morning but when I went to replace with different ones the CD unit didn't pull them in and comes up with CD error. I've tried switching on/off, leaving a few hours etc but ...

| Reversed Polarity | 23 Jul 2006 03:01 GMT | 31 |
While fiddling today I noticed that the big red wire coming off my battery is attached to the negative terminal of my battery. Obviously someone has stuffed in a battery of a different design to the one intended and reversed the connections to make it fit. I'm thinking

| Slightly off topic, but which wires go to trailer brake/side light | 23 Jul 2006 01:32 GMT | 4 |
I have just had to rewire a trailer board but I cannot remember which wire goes to which connection on the brake/side light bulb. The bulb is a 6w/18w (or something like that). Is the brake 6w and the side 18w or vice versa ??.

| Air Con failure? | 22 Jul 2006 19:15 GMT | 4 |
Hi this may be a complete newb question but is an odourless greyish vapour coming into the car via the air vents temporarily after the aircon has been running but has then been switched off a sign of a fault? Or just water vapour happening to condense out? I have had to

| Fork lift brake cylinder | 22 Jul 2006 17:13 GMT | 48 |
Hello group. A bit off topic. The brakes of a forklift are just like the rear shoes and drum of a car. A little bigger but just the same. The brake piston seal at one side of the brake piston has failed so I

| Close to the Edge (down by the river) | 22 Jul 2006 12:35 GMT | 16 |
I was on my way home tonight (with the window down!) when I noticed a nasty crack running up my windscreen from the middle of the bottom of the screen, diagonally upwards towards the passengers side. Its going on a foot long. Its not actually a visual problem yet and is quite tricky ...

The car alarm on my 4 year old 1.8 astra keeps going off and refuses to stop even when I put the key in the ignition and start the engine. I have now had to disconnect it from the battery. This has happened before but it did stop, this time it wont. The vauxhall agents were not

| Synthetic Oils - Which are and which aren't?! | 22 Jul 2006 10:52 GMT | 6 |
I'm making the move to synthetic at my next oil change, I've done a fair bit of reading on this and am definately taking the plunge, but there seems to be a lot of confusion about exactly which ARE synthetic and which AREN'T! I gather ester based synthetics are best (e.g. ...
