I had the cam belt fail on a citroen AX. Anyone know how much damage is
likely to have been done (ie is it an interference engine etc)? It's an
1124cc '95/N Memphis.

i have recently bought an N reg rover 416si and the clutch, or i
presume it is the clutch, is making a whining noise in second and third
gear, it has also become difficult to change gear and sometimes slips
out of third all on its own.

Anyone had a problem with the steering on the Vectra?
I've an 03 plate with 95000 and yesterday I noticed that there seems to
be a delay when making a quick steering adjustment (going on my drive
involves switching from lock to lock for example).  It feels like it as

I have a very old and rusty car I am working on, I can't get the damage
track rod end off the steering rack. i have loosened the nut on th
steering rack that fits flush with the track rod end....It however i
still solid! Any idea?

It is getting increasingly difficult to change gear on our Picnic (2.0
GL Petrol 1996).
especially when setting off and facing downhill.
Also the biting point on the clutch pedal seems very high.

I have a knock on my '99 Focus TDDI (Endura-D engine) Ghia, which appears to
be at half engine speed. It is considerably worse when cold and *almost*
imperceptible when fully warmed up, but I can just about hear it..  It is
worse when pulling away and inaudible or at least masked ...

Hi Guys :-) Usual car Corsa 1.7D on  a S 1998 plate.
I have just given the car a once over before getting off the factors for
some bits and the local fast fit for some tyres, I noticed that the nearside
front has scrubbed of on the inside shoulder.

Recently acquired a 2001 VWT4 van.  It has 4 almost brand new
Continental Vanco Contact2 tyres fitted, type 205/65 R15 99 T RF.
The Owners Manual and the plate on the driver's door, however, give
the recommended tyre specification as 205/65 R15 C 100 T.

In the past I've used the same garage for all repairs, however after the
same faults coming up every 1 - 2 years (when their warranty had gone)
I'm considering having the MOT done elsewhere.  They're a garage, so
generally got the work for the repairs.

The last few days when I try to start my Espace
in the morning, 2.2dCi 2001 it accpets the key, radio/dash lights up
engine cranks but the imobiliser on the dash LED
flashes. So won't let me start. No warning lights etc.
