Fiat Brava14 Aug 2006 19:00 GMT1
Couple of questions regarding these cars.  How is the radio removed?  I
can't see where the usual radio removal tools go.  I take it it does require
the usual tools?  Also, has anyone who has got one of these suffered from an
erratic speedo?  With the one I have, the speedo ...
Mondeo revs "hunting" when cold14 Aug 2006 17:45 GMT3
Mondeo 2.0 petrol, manual, Mk3 03 reg (Duratec HE).
Engine revs are "hunting" when cold.
Car starts perfectly but revs continually cycle between about 800rpm and
1300rpm as if blipping the throttle every second or so.
Brake fluid14 Aug 2006 15:56 GMT2
Ok, thanks all for the help earlier, I have now topped up my coolant
but when I did this I noticed the brake fluid was well below the
minimum line!
The car had a full service only 2 months ago so I find this a little
Ducato 2.0 jtd oil change14 Aug 2006 15:52 GMT1
This is the second time that I have changed the oil & filter on my
motorhome.
The handbook says that it holds 5.25 litres including the oil filter.
I have just refilled and can only just get 4 litres in up to the top of the
Merc E180 wiper mechanism14 Aug 2006 15:36 GMT1
A friend has a 1994 Mercedes E180. Yesterday the window wiper stopped
working. I've checked and the fuse hasn't gone - you can hear the motor
whirring.
I'm able to move the wiper across the windscreen with little resistance
Flipping wonderful14 Aug 2006 14:31 GMT6
The wife's Skoda was broken into a few weeks ago. The passenger side
lock was knackered before the toerag found that it can't be got into
that way. So the quarter light was punched in. This was all so the idiot
could steal a stereo that had the front fascia removed so is ...
Car horn rules...14 Aug 2006 13:47 GMT18
I only rarely use my horn, and it tends to be to let other road users know
of my presence *because they just did something totally stupid* and
obviously must have been unaware of me. The only alternative is that they
deliberately forced me to brake or otherwise take evasive ...
Aprrox. how much fuel savings do you get if you only fill your tank half full?14 Aug 2006 09:49 GMT38
Er, that's it.
how to remove a clifford alarm14 Aug 2006 00:45 GMT3
I had a accident in my E34 BMW earlier, i think its wrote off, i hit the
kerb at about 20, smashed a alloy, bent susp, so i guess thats a new
steering arm and all the rest....the wheel is at 45 deg....
I was going around a round about in the wet when it suddenly pulled and
Oil overfill14 Aug 2006 00:20 GMT10
Had a little mishap with my old banger (1988 Colt) the other day.  Before
setting off for a 120 mile journey I thought I'd check the oil.  It was a
bit low, so I topped it up to about halfway between min and max readings.  I
then set off.
Just a stone chip or a paintwork problem?14 Aug 2006 00:17 GMT5
Got dinged by a small stone the other day and spotted this big chip in my
bonnet today. (VW touran) http://www.zen31010.zen.co.uk/images/chip.jpg
It's bigger and flakier than any stone chip I've ever had before.  As the
car is only two weeks old I'm a bit peeved.
strange problem13 Aug 2006 23:45 GMT5
i have a ford escort, it's from the year 1999. It's a 1.6 zetec and has been
okay up until now. When I brake and put my foot down on the clutch to change
gears, the revs drop right down and the car nearly stalls, as the battery
light flickers on and off, then recovers rev-wise.
Axle stand point13 Aug 2006 23:10 GMT6
Feel a bit stupif asking but I picked up some axle stands today to use for
forthcoming mechanic work and I'm not sure where I should put them (careful
:) )
The guy I bought them from said he uses them under the jacking points :s not
Synthetic Enamel - polishing / sanding?13 Aug 2006 22:46 GMT5
I know a few on here have a bit of a clue about paint. As I understand it,
Synthetic Enamel (http://www.spencercoatings.co.uk/index/products_ace - look
for Farmline) can't be polished after it's dried. This is a bit of a problem
as I need to be able to de-nib and sand out any ...

My dad has a '97 Seat Toledo Sport and is having a problem with the ABS
light not going
off. The brakes appear to be working fine.  Seat of course said we
would need a new pump
