Replacing magnetic particles in transmition09 Aug 2006 16:23 GMT3
My Nissan Micra transmition is on the way out, aparently because the
magnetic particles in the powder clutch have lost magnetism.
One mechanic said he can replace these magnetic particles, others say they
need to replace the Powder clutch.

How to tow a car with faulty brakes?09 Aug 2006 12:54 GMT22
Grrrr....
Fiat Bravo 1.8 - split flexi hose on driver's side rear. Got the replacement
hose and came to fit it today but a combination of rain and awkward access
to the underside of the car meant I couldn't sort it. Rang the AA and got
Automobile button switch09 Aug 2006 12:44 GMT16
A push button switch I rigged up on my 50 year old Merc as a brake light
switch has finally given up. I need another. The spec is basically that it
needs to be push button, but pushing it switches it OFF. So its basic state
is ON unless pushed. The brake pedal comes up when you ...

I know this has been asked many times but I can't for the life of me
remember the solution.
I have a Xantia TD that drives spot on except for every now and then the
revs will not go above 3000rpm. Switch the engine off and back on again and
Xantia Values?09 Aug 2006 09:59 GMT14
Before I point and laugh muchously, I just wondered if 2750 for a T plate
Xantia (apparently without aircon!) is an absolutely ridiculous price and
the dealer has been laughinmg so had he still hasn't made it to the bank?

Anyway - car was repaired (by insurer's preferred garage, which is
owned by the insurer and I believe, only does accident/insurance work)

Skoda felicia door lock08 Aug 2006 20:14 GMT2
The interior door lock plunger - i.e. the bit that you push down or pull up
to lock/unlock the door has come off.
My wife managed to push it back into place the first time it came away, but
it's done it again and we can seem to get it to re-fit.
Mondeo Fuse08 Aug 2006 15:46 GMT3
Anybody know where the fuse is for the cigar lighter in a 2002 mondeo?
I have checked the fuse box and none of the fuses show a lighter symbol and
none have blown. Is there an in-line one hiding somewhere?
Thanks
Bleeding Coolant on a Impreza08 Aug 2006 14:19 GMT11
A friend of mine has just bought a K-reg Impreza 2Ltr Turbo thingy, due to
the thing running hot he suspects that there are air locks in the cooling
system and thus needs to bleed the thing.
Not having actually paid for the car nor received any sorts of manuals he
