I have just purchased  Renault Clio 1.6 16v Initale V Reg.

My issue is that the newer renault seems to have heavier steering than
maybe OT: LDV 400 steering04 Aug 2006 11:15 GMT9
Just bought a pikey old LDV van (1996 400 model) for a bit of house
clearance/ rubbish shifting. The steering seems to have a mind of its
own and requires constant correction when driving along. It does not
seem as though there is any play in the steering mechanism itself in

MoT and emissions04 Aug 2006 02:16 GMT6
I was just looking through the MoT handbook and the part on emissions
isn't all that easy to read but it does say that if a car is fitted
with another engine (of whatver make) then the emissions test carried
out is to be the one for the age of the engine, not of the car.
Renault Scenic Relay Location04 Aug 2006 00:42 GMT8
Hi, does anybody know where the relay is exactly for the rear wiper on an X
reg renault megane scenic 1.4. I think mine may be dodgy as it's only
working intermittently. Mainly after the engine has fully warmed up. Also is
there any distinguishing marks on it so I know I'm ...

Buying an '03 Focus TDCi?03 Aug 2006 21:47 GMT5
Any things to look out for apart from the usual, when buying a 2003 Focus
TDCi with 97k on the clock. Apparently due its first MOT in Oct.
A colleague wants one for general commuting and has found one at about
£4500.

I decided on a cheap Ford Escort 'Finesse', Y reg, as my runabout for now.
There's a few issues I have with it though at the moment. If anybody can
enlighten me on any of them, I'd be grateful!
1) Rear windscreen demister does not work - fuse seems okay, earth seems

ECU OPINIONS ROVER 420 PETROL PROBLEM.......03 Aug 2006 18:44 GMT13
1997 'R' 420 GSI - 94k miles, starts on first touch of the key, whisper
quiet, albeit slightlyuneven tickover but drives smoothly and silently
to around 3000 revs as long as it is not put under any load.
If it is put under load ie 'floor' throttle to overtake or more
Bloody brakes...03 Aug 2006 18:00 GMT10
First day back to work after the holiday, took my little Bravo to work
without any issue. Went for a spin at lunchtime, hit the brakes and the
pedal went to the floor with very little braking power. Not a pleasant
feeling, limped back to work and popped the bonnet, no brake fluid ...
Adhesive marks on headlights03 Aug 2006 14:51 GMT11
I have just bought a Mondeo Mk3.  It looks like the previous owner has used
headlight beam deflectors whilst driving abroad and they have left some of
the adhesive behind on the headlights when removed.  The headlights appear
