Peugeot 406 ABS Problem26 Sep 2006 19:31 GMT4
I have a 2000 model Peugeot 406 HDi that I purchased earlier in the
summer. There is an intermittent fault with the braking system that
causes the ABS to operate when braking gently at slow speeds, typically
less than 20 mph, which results in pulsing felt through the brake pedal.
Espace interesting instruments26 Sep 2006 17:53 GMT12
Having borrowed a mate's old Espace to help with house moving, I noticed a
few interesting aspects of the instrument panel...
- all the warning lights come on at first then go out as they should.
- speedo wobbles but works. Milometer works. Rev counter works.
Req: Please ignore "Fred".26 Sep 2006 16:33 GMT16
It seems that "Fred" didn't post much prior to the Richard
Hammond crash.
He posts via Altopia (news.alt.net) which is the trolls' #1
server of choice.

Track rod end removal.26 Sep 2006 00:30 GMT10
This is the second weekend on the trot i've had a go at replacing the
track rod ends on my escort and still they won't budge.
I've pretty much given up now and am considering taking it to a garage
to get it done but just want a rought idea of what it's likely to cost.
Getting a Seicento with engine problem25 Sep 2006 22:29 GMT7
I'm being given a Fiat Seicento this week but it has an engine problem -
apparently it keeps losing a spark plug. Note I've not seen the car yet.
Any ideas why this might be?
Are there any other issues with these to consider. It's a 2000 model and I'm
Door mirror heaters25 Sep 2006 20:16 GMT14
Anyone know a source of these - the actual cards only - or of cheapish
replacement mirror glasses for any car that have them so I could transfer
them to mine? The correct ones are NLA for my SD1.
FORD MONDEO 1999 1.8Verona. Reverse switch?               Rv!25 Sep 2006 18:42 GMT2
Just found my reverse lights not working last night when
I got home. Checked the bulb/fuse and all OK.
It's either wiring or reverse switch says me...
No idea where the switch is so had a dig about.
Fiat Bravo: Knackered clutch?25 Sep 2006 17:44 GMT4
Noticed a couple of days ago that my clutch pedal had become a little more
stiff to push, and when pushing to the floor creaked a little - I attributed
this to maybe the pedal needing a lube and thought nothing more of it. Went
on a fairly long drive today, drove into a ...
Door mirror heaters25 Sep 2006 16:59 GMT1
Had a look round Halfords, and they don't appear to do any heated
replacements.

Aldi Welder25 Sep 2006 10:18 GMT30
I see Aldi has a welder in at the moment for 34.99, which seems very cheap.
I currently have no need to weld anything, but it's a skill I've been
meaning to try and pick up and am sure in the future will be able to put the
machine to use.
Hamster fund for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance25 Sep 2006 09:40 GMT10
The YAA airlifted Richard Hammond to hospital after his Top Gear crash and
this donations page has been set up to help fund the £3600 a day they need
to keep the helicopter in the air.
In 24 hours it's raised nearly £50,000
Speed Converter25 Sep 2006 09:17 GMT26
I took my Ford Focus to mainland Europe this summer and had a job
reading the KPH markings on ths speedo as they are red on black.  Is
it possible to buy a plastic card or similar to show speeds in MPH and
KPH and is easy to read?
Starting problem24 Sep 2006 20:58 GMT8
Went to the supermarket to drop of some recycling tonight, and on
returning to the car it wouldn't start. All the dashboard lights lit up,
but seemingly no current going to the starter motor.
The car has an alarm which hasn't operated properly since I bought it, but
