Guys
Have a 52 plate almera and basically the door wont catch when shutting it. I
have an auto care policy with Arnold Clark but im pretty sure this wont be
covered (the wording is very vague)  The garage wont be looking at it till

Looking to buy an 8 seat previa p / r reg. Not being used to the car was a
bit alarmed at the lack of access to the engine being only via a small flap
to get at auto box dipstick and main engine oil fill. Couldnt even see the
plugs! Is this car a total no no for self service being ...

This is a colleague's car that I haven't seen that we were just discussing
over lunch.  What can people say about the engine?  I gather it's a straight
4 with 8 valves but that's about the limit of my knowledge.
Does it have a distributor?

I havea  couple of problems with my 306 HDI 2000 reg.
1) there appears to be some sort of mechanical whine? when the engin
decelerates, in gear or not, with or without the clutch depressed.

My Nissan Terrano has short (6000 miles) service intervals. Now that it is
no longer under warranty I am wondering whether it would be possible go
10000 miles between servicing. Is this really likely to damage it?

At one time many small garages hired out their premises with use of major
equipment etc on a Saturday and Sunday, etc, for DIY use - with a
supervising mechanic present.
Does this still happen or has H&S legislation killed it off?

beware..........while I know they are ALWAYS at work somewhere or other they
had a very nice 4 x 4 away on a Romsey industrial estate today.
keep industrial unit man doors locked, roller doors down or manned when open
and car keys well hidden.

My car failed it's MOT.  The tester said the car was in excellent condition
and that whilst the brakes passed the test, and the ABS was fully working,

This evening whilst driving on dipped headlights I closed 2 electric windows
and I noticed the front lights slightly dim a bit ?
Is this normal or the sign of a flagging battery ?

Sons Car has the GM 2.2 litre engine
Difficult starting on cold mornings but fine when weather not so cold so
don't think a problem with injector seals or air leaks. Started first  go

I have a Toyota Carina E (petrol, 1995). It failed the MOT's emission
test.
