Ford Puma engine cutting out13 Nov 2006 13:46 GMT2
Driving home today the engine died in my 1.7. while driving along.  Rolled
to a stop.  Engine wouldn't start, left it for a few minutes when it started
again.  Drove it home and sometimes it would seem to stop for a fraction of
a second and then start backup as you could see the ...
Seatbelt stalks.13 Nov 2006 10:58 GMT9
At the moment my seat belt 'clips' are mounted direct on the seats and to
the sides of them. This has caused some scuffing of the seats long term.
Those flexible stalks that put the clip a few inches above the mounting
would be ideal. Can they be bought new - or is it a question of ...
Dodgy Garage!!! Incomplete work.13 Nov 2006 10:55 GMT5
Hi guys, my local garage fitted a new suspension spring for my mondeo
on Friday. The silly imps didn't put the gaiter back on over the strut.
I was getting it ready for an MOT is that a failure?
Any pointers gratefully received......
Focus Diesel recommendation13 Nov 2006 00:51 GMT4
I'm looking to buy a used Focus diesel 3/5d hatch between 1 and 4 years old
in the UK.  What model should I buy for reliability?   Any model I shouldn't
consider at all (for reliability) Are there any specific points I need to
watch out for when viewing the vehicle?
mechanics of starter teeth engagement12 Nov 2006 23:46 GMT8
am having some trouble with my vw starter motor. every morning the

gently rocking the car while in 4th to free it.

Another Mondeo misfire12 Nov 2006 19:34 GMT18
My daughter has an elderly ('T' plate, 140K miles) 2 litre Mondeo which
misfires at low revs.  Driven 'briskly' there's no problem, but at anything
less than about 2500 - 3000 rpm on a more gentle throttle it seems to lose a
cylinder.  She has had new spark plugs and leads fitted ...

Fiesta slipping feeling when cornering in first12 Nov 2006 18:36 GMT10
My fiesta (96, 1.3 petrol endura-e manual, newer shape) has recently had a
new clutch (hydraulic master and slave) and I've got a couple of niggles...
1) when pulling out of say a junction from standstill and turning (mainly
right) in first gear there is a "slipping" feeling/sound ...
FIAT Punto 1.2 cambelt question12 Nov 2006 17:07 GMT4
My son's girlfriend has just bought a 1998 FIAT Punto 1.2.
I'm not sure if it has got a 8v or 16v engine. Does anyone know the
cambelt interval and is it the same for the 8v and 16v. I've read that
the 8v is non interference. Can anyone confirm this?
Diesel Astra tacho/engine hunting problem?12 Nov 2006 16:21 GMT4
I've got a V-reg 1.7 Astra diesel estate that's developed a weird fault;
after about 5-6 miles driving from cold (temp gauge about normal - 80C) the
tacho reading drops to zero and the engine oil and engine fault icons come
on. Also, engine power drops off and on tickover the ...
Water loss problem12 Nov 2006 14:28 GMT3
I'm losing coolant at the rate of about half a litre every 50/60 miles.
There is no visible leak so i suspect that its the head gasket, especially
as i've noticed the engine running "unevenly" lately, mainly till it warms
up.
