Is this a DIY job?06 Nov 2006 15:05 GMT2
A few months ago my 2001 Proton Wira was constantly showing its engine
warning light and had some replacement parts fitted as a product recall.
Everything has been fine until now, when the engine splutters until I
wriggle the things on the top of the plugs (injectors?) and all ...
Toothed belt final drives on motorcycles - when did that start?06 Nov 2006 10:07 GMT5
I know this is a car forum but I must be way out of touch with current
automotive engineering thinking - I recently saw several large engined,
exotic looking motorcycles parked up and I was surprised to notice that
they all had a toothed belt final drive (as opposed to conventional
Biodiesel05 Nov 2006 23:17 GMT3
At risk of asking a question that might already have been discussed recently
(I can't be arsed to check), do the savings with biodiesel actually outweigh
the hassle (yes I know that you have to do a conversion and it won't work
with a Lucas injector)? How do you get the stuff, ...
Vectra not starting after ferry crossing05 Nov 2006 20:30 GMT10
Last week I could not start my Vectra to drive it off a ferry. When I
turned on the ignition some strange engine symbol, with a lightening
bolt thro it, came up as a warning on the dash - I turned the key
further and nothing at all happened. It didn't matter how many times I

Ford Ka heater not working05 Nov 2006 16:19 GMT12
I am in need of some brownie points with SWMBO. The heater on her Ka
doesn't work, which is obviously a problem on these recent cold
mornings. All the controls seem to work OK, the engine gets hot, but
the interior doesn't. My prime suspect is the thermostat: possibly

Escort Heater not very hot04 Nov 2006 19:44 GMT14
The heater on my 98 escort doesn't seem to be blowing very hot air,
it's warm but nowhere near as hot as i seem to remember it last winter.
It also seems to be taking a lot longer to warm up and if you turn the
heat dial down even just marginally the air from the blower becomes

I've got a L-reg Corsa (5 door) with a reasonable amount of life left in
it and, as befitting of a car of this age, Third Party Fire and Theft
insurance.
Presumably exacerbated by recent cold spell, a crack has in the
