Got a problem with my car ('96 Ford Fiesta Ghia 1.25), and excuse me if its obvious but im a novice here. The engine doesnt come on at all, no sound of it turning over or trying to start, just a very faint whirring, possibly electrical, sound. It was driven through a nasty

| Ha! You're all wrong. | 28 Nov 2006 20:31 GMT | 16 |
So, the Clio I posted about a while back. "Don't worry about the timing belt" etc. Well, I've been trying to find a garage that won't rip me off. There's a belt in the car, but I haven't had time to have a go at fitting it myself.

I've just bought a 1993 306 1.6 XT to replace my 1994 306 1.9D which was written off. The gear linkage on the new car has died on me this morning. Had RAC out who fitted a new pin to the linkage but advised me to get a new

| Charge for a Micra full service | 28 Nov 2006 12:09 GMT | 1 |
What roughly should a main dealer charge me for a full service on a 04 Micra 1.4 auto? Reason for asking is the deal is that if I have it serviced once a year by them, any repairs that need doing, the parts are free.

| Mystery Switch on Peugeot 306 | 28 Nov 2006 11:38 GMT | 2 |
I've just bought a 1993 306 1.6 XT. There is a switch with a symbol of an up-arrow and a down-arrow on top of each other with an X in between (if that makes any sense). Looks a bit like this but 90 degrees to the right, my ascii art skills

| glow plug relay / starter solenoid | 28 Nov 2006 11:21 GMT | 43 |
My little old Escort Diesel 1.8 (1994) standard has an illness. Turning the ingnition on lights up its dash lights and it tells me the glow plugs are heating (the timer relay must be working) but the glow plug relay does not operate (seems the solenoid is not energising). Bridging ...

| Nissan drops Primera | 27 Nov 2006 14:18 GMT | 4 |
I read that Nissan are discontinuing the Primera due to bad sales. Seems that this size of car is disappearing now. I don't think the new Primera was a great improvement on the older model. Even reliability had deteriorated.

| Adjusting Renault windscreen washer | 27 Nov 2006 13:54 GMT | 1 |
How do you adjust the height at which the water from the washer strikes the windscreen on a Renault laguna (latest model). It was obvious on my old golf. Simply use a needle to adjust where the nozzle was pointed at. But in the Renault I cannot see how this can be
