Damn hydraulic bonnet struts.  Duh!06 Dec 2006 19:53 GMT5
Topping up the oil on Sunday.   Left the bonnet open with a funnel
inside the oil filler hole while I went to put the oil back in the
boot.   Wind caught the bonnet and it came crashing down.
Broke the plastic funnel.  Two bits went down under the camshaft.

started ran for 10 seconds and now after much pissing ...

my 99V Ford Galaxy 1.9DTI (110BHP) loses power if you accelarate hard
up a hill. It's like a swicth has been flicked, and after you feel it
"go" it is sluggish and will hardy pull up long hills until you restart

Windscreen wipers packed up - Renault Scenic06 Dec 2006 10:08 GMT2
Checked the fuse - looks OK. Even swapped with another but no joy...
Apart from the obvious - motor bugggered - is there anything else it
could be? Are there any relays anywhere?
How can I check if the motor is screwed?

vectra 1.8 engine noise05 Dec 2006 23:00 GMT2
Hi, wondered if anyone could help!!
I have a petrol 1.8 ecotec vectra that makes the stangest tinny type
noise only when warmed up and only when above 50mph, bit puzzled by
this. Water temp is fine and engine goes fine, but obviously something
removing and refitting headlight on 1996 Renault Clio05 Dec 2006 21:11 GMT2
In my Haynes manual it says that in order to replace the headlight unit
on my Clio I need to remove the bonnet and the bumper.  Why?  Is it
just for ease of access?  I can't see why I need to do remove them (or
are there bolts/screws that I've missed so far?).

S Reg Focus
I undid the 4 screws on the trim panel around the instruments and
tried to pull the panel out.  Using light force it wouldn't come out,
so I stopped.
Astra noise from front05 Dec 2006 20:07 GMT10
question number 2 :-)   I`ve got an M reg Astra that has been making a noise
from what seems like the front right side for a few months now.  I took it

agreed where the noise was coming from, but when they had a ...
E34 MOT failure... is it worth fixing?05 Dec 2006 19:55 GMT24
Looking for advice...
I've had a 1993 E34 touring, 520i for about three years.  It's in 'OK'
shape; one of the front wings is starting to 'spot' and will probably
need replacing in  few months, an outer sill will need patching.
Sukuki rear seat mount05 Dec 2006 19:18 GMT1
My wife's trusty '93 Vitara Sport failed it's MOT today ... one of the
things it failed on has never been an issue before, and that is that
the rear seats are not able to be locked down and would tip forwards in
an accident.
Cheapest place to buy brake parts?Proper motor factor or small shop?05 Dec 2006 18:13 GMT3
Is it usually cheapest to buy parts (brake parts/calipers  in my case)
direct from Part CoBrown Bros/Andrew Page who are proper motor factors
rather than these small car accessory shops who order in their parts
in from the likes of Part Co.
