Just had 4 new tyres fitted at a decent local tyre place. They are unidirectional ones. I read what the guy at http://www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible.html says about the coloured band running around the tyre being for runout and also for a quick visual check

My mums just bought a second hand car. The clutch is causing her problems in that it has to be almost all the way out before it bites. Can this be adjusted so that it bites nearer the floor? TIA

its taken for granted that broken glass is bad for tyres, but har far would you go to avoid it? if your path was blocked would you sweep it out of the way with a floor mat?

I'm trying to fix a sickly 2002 Mercedes A160 (petrol) for a friend. It is misfiring badly and the check engine light is on. After some faffing around I eventually managed to get the OBD-II information out and it says "P0301 Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected". Hmmmm, I thought it might be

The service lights have been disp[laying for a while on my mum's Beamer. SHe doesn't think it needs a service and I'm not going to pay for it. Is there any way I can reset the lights without a garage?

My brakes started to make the metal to metal noise. It now seems to have developed a fluid leak. Would the metal to metal of the front brake pads caused the caliper to leak somehow? Not enough resistance or something?
