DMM functions + usage with EFi & ABS08 Jan 2007 17:24 GMT9
During the course of sorting my S70, Tim suggested the use of a rpm meter
function to monitor the output from the CAS and primary coil circuit. Since
then I have been considering purchasing a modestly priced automotive meter
with such a function.
Hints please.08 Jan 2007 15:51 GMT3
My Rover 214 has decided, from Saturday, to be an absolute pig to start.
Right up until Friday it started on the turn of the key.  On Saturday it
just sat and spun the the engine with no thought of starting until I gave it
a lot of accelerator pedal when it farted and popped onto ...

You may have noticed the thread earlier about getting decent access to the
fusebox of said vehicle.
The fuse was replaced for the head lights and they worked fine for one full
night. The problem now, is that the fuse keeps popping when trying to turn
Car Batteries08 Jan 2007 12:41 GMT18
I'm designing a large scale radio control submarine (13ft) and am currently
working out battery space.
I'm going to use 3 car batteries (need 36V) and was wondering if there is a
'standard' size battery?

Ive got an 05 VW Golf GTI which comes standard spec with all round blue

1992 Citroen BX 1.6 petrol- stalling during cornering08 Jan 2007 11:43 GMT2
I'm in between cars at the moment and am making temporary use of my
family's old Citroen BX. The car has about 90K on the clock and smokes a
little on starting, but is basically an okay runner. That said, one
rather annoying fault that the car does have is that on hard cornering, ...
Peugeot 206, about 1999-200008 Jan 2007 09:25 GMT31
the girlfriend has decided that if I get a new car, she gets one too.  She`s
keen on a Peugeot 206, and we can afford £2-£2.5k, which would seem to get
her one from 1999-2000.  Are there any good reasons I should steer her away
from this car?

Is it time to change battery?07 Jan 2007 21:32 GMT39
The battery fitted to my dad's Audi 80 is an original VW Audi battery
and was fitted new when he purchased the car 10 years ago.  It is used
daily and although the engine starts first time on the button I was
wondering with its age if it's now time to change it.

2.0 Petrol.
The car cranks OK, reluctantly tries to fire (or feels like it). Fuel

Clio II 1.2 - spark plug gap ?07 Jan 2007 18:11 GMT4
Does anyone know the correct plug gap for a 52 plate 1.2 Clio ? Its
done about 30k and the tickover is a little lumpy, it's probably the
coil set starting to break down but thought I'd try the plug gaps first.

Rover 414i cuts out dead...07 Jan 2007 16:44 GMT5
I have a great little Rover 414i on a P plate, 45,000miles, and it runs
fine 99% of the time.
At odd times, say every 30-60 mins or so on a long run, the revs die and
the emgine cuts out for a split second - when driving it just seems to
