Vauxhall Zafira - Firewall07 Jan 2007 16:12 GMT3
I need to bring a 12v 30Amp supply into my Zafira cabin. Ideally this will
be taken straight from the battery so as to minmise any RFI problems. There
is no obvious way to bring any extra power feeds through the firewall
(others have tried & failed !) and the local Vauxhall ...

Is N Reg. Mondeo Turbo Diesel worth repairng after running with no coolant?07 Jan 2007 10:34 GMT6
A friend has a 1.8 Turbo Diesel Mondeo which ran out of water on a
trip. It was an hour or two before refilling so shouldn't have cracked
anything. It will  start and run but issues some smoke/steam/unburnt
diesel. (he's not sure which and lives 150 miles away so I can't
Odd fusebox location, what am I missing?07 Jan 2007 09:57 GMT17
A friend has a 53 plate Ford Fiesta 1.4 that has recently killed two fuses.
Not being the most technically minded, he's asked me to investigate which
ones have died and replace them. No problem...I thought.
The fusebox is located behind the glovebox, but when the box is fully open ...
Vauxhall Astra mileage correction07 Jan 2007 00:21 GMT2
Heh.
So. I have been offered an Astra. It's a 1.7TD Estate (painfully slow
and not particularly economical, but twice as economical as the RX8 -
the Sera is being sold).

At the risk of starting a long thread - Power Washers and Engine Bays!!06 Jan 2007 23:44 GMT6
I've been power-washing the engine bay of my old 1997 2.0 Mondeo Ghia X for
many years, about once per year, without incident. Those of you who know
Fords will also know that this engine is petrol. For the record, I've never
bothered with covering distributors, coil packs, HT ...
Got a flat battery on my Puma and can't pop the bonnet!06 Jan 2007 22:37 GMT18
I haven't driven the car for a month or two and when I came to do so it
seems that the battery has gone flat.
However, I went to open the bonnet and pull the battery out for a
charge and it wouldn't open!
What damage ?06 Jan 2007 21:18 GMT22
Would I have done to the electric components on my Vauxhall Astra by running
it for ten miles without a fan belt ? Could it nacker up the ignition
components.
       Thanks in advance.

Bradbury lifting gear.06 Jan 2007 19:27 GMT3
Are Bradbury (TI-Bradbury) still in business?  I've Googled hard,
and can't find anything.
   About 8 years ago I bought second-hand a Bradbury 4-poster.  I
needed a few parts (ropes, pulleys, etc.) and got these from a firm
Crankcase breather06 Jan 2007 18:20 GMT7
I've just bought a K&N filter to try on my old skool Celica liftback.
The filter is a flat, round chrome one that fits on top of a standard
Nikki (same as Aisan) carb. It's a standard, boring, 18R,  2000cc
engine, 1977)
Rover 75s likely to depreciate sharply?06 Jan 2007 18:18 GMT75
I have noticed quite a lot of Rover 75s /Rover 75 tourers and the MG
equivalanets for sale at reasonable prices for the spec.   But I
imagine these cars that are priced 3-6k now will depricate sharply
compared to other brands. Will they end up worth buttons like the
Tyre repair kit06 Jan 2007 16:41 GMT10
There was a thread in here a while ago about tubeless tyre repair kits.
Someone posted a link to one which was IIRC about £25 and available in UK.
I've googled for it and all the kits I can find are either American, or only
for temporary use, or about £60. Can anyone help with a ...
2000 Astra Power loss & poor idle06 Jan 2007 15:47 GMT10
2000 X reg Astra 1.4 16V
Having just got to the bottom of my own car troubles, one of my neighbours
is now having a similar problem. As I say in the subject, the car is
suffering from a lack of power in all driving conditions and a lumpy,
