hi im having major problems with my golf 1999 mk4 1.6 engine code akl
after it heats up about 2 miles it starts shuddering like its going
off all 4 cylinders and when you slow down it stalls starts ok and
ticks over ok had it on the computer and came up with these faults

My Focus (1.6 petrol Zetec engine) has now done 60K miles and I thought I'd
get the cambelt changed at the local Ford dealer. The quote was £200.

We have a 1ltr Corsa on a 51 plate. It has become difficult to select
2nd gear. I have find some info off these groups that point to a common
problem with corsas, that the gear linkage wears.
Before I get the spanners out, is the linkage adjustable/repairable, or

i have just changed the diesel timing pump on my transit its an m reg
but has bannana type manifold  the old pump was full of metal
fragments looks like some sort of washer broke up in the pump, its the
bosch pump i now have another problem van is a non turbo diesel i now

I was giving the car a full service and check over at the weekend.  All
but one of the shocks (both at front, one at rear) had a couple of mm's
of red gunk down the sides of them.  This seemed pretty much dried on
now.  I've only seen a shock that had recently gone and it looked ...

Knowing the breadth and depth of knowleldge in this group, I thought
I'd ask here before taking her somewhere to potentially be ripped-off
for not knowing enough about these things.  If someone can enlighten
me to the likeliest cause of my vehicle's malaise, you shall have an

Is it normal for sump pans to rot out in so short a space of time? It
