Regular tapping noise on car04 Mar 2007 20:54 GMT14
I`ve got a regular tapping noise that sounds to be coming from the front
offside wheel area.  It sounds almost as if there is a flap of rubber
sticking out from the tyre that is hitting the car at the same point of each
revolution of the wheel.  It is now dark, so I`ve only ...
petrol stations - prices04 Mar 2007 16:34 GMT10
Why is BP always more expensive than other brands of petrol? It is in
Scotland anyway. I am currently working in Grangemouth which is 27 miles
from Edinburgh and it is the home of the BP refinery that covers the
central Scotland area. They only have BP petrol stations there and ...

Beware The Paki Car Crash Gangs04 Mar 2007 14:20 GMT38
As seen on Sky News, but Sky News doesn't allow non-whites to be seen
to be doing anything wrong because like most TV stations it's owned by
a Jew.

duped by Bristol garage04 Mar 2007 14:02 GMT9
I got my alternator changed from this garage. Fussy mechanic, kept
complaining to me about the difficulty he faced changing the
alternator!!. He was rude and imprecise while giving me the quote. The
breakdown guy had checked the alternator, it was making noise and was
Vectra fan not switching on at the right temperature.04 Mar 2007 13:29 GMT7
I've noticed just recently that the cooling fan in my '96 Vectra is
not switching itself on at the same temperature any more - it used to
come on at around 105 degrees (which I think is the correct setting)
but it now doesn't come on until it reaches about 125 - when the
BBC - Morrisons & Tesco withdraw fuel04 Mar 2007 12:15 GMT29
Trading  Standards are still being less than informative with the
information they are releasing. What exactly do they mean by 'can
cause "serious problems" in petrol engines' -

Blowers - not blowing hardly at all (Renault Scenic)04 Mar 2007 12:11 GMT11
Does work a little bit but not a great deal. Heaters work as does AC
but neither is very effective since the air isnt blown out at any
great force....
Could we be talking screwed blower motor here?
Old A Reg VW POLO exhaust bracket broken on car frame04 Mar 2007 10:33 GMT2
One of the exhaust brackets on old A Reg VW POLO frame has sheared
off.  Before I ask the garage if it can be fixed and not wanting to
appear totally inept, does any body know if a new bracket can be
welded on?
Oxygen/lambda sensors. Was Skoda sensor problem.03 Mar 2007 22:27 GMT13
Just writing out my findings in a seperate thread so that the results can be
found easily by future sufferers of apparent sensor failure in the hope that
it might save someone a few (hundred?) quid.
My SOSkoda's symptoms were that it did not like starting when warm and would
Signum/vectra bust electric mirror03 Mar 2007 20:20 GMT7
Found my electric mirror has been popped off the mechanism last night.
Looks like one of the local chavs decided he couldn't keep his hands to
himself, and wanted to check his poxy inbred face in my drivers side mirror.
The glass was tilted as far up as it will go, and is now ...
Fiesta power steering pump03 Mar 2007 17:10 GMT6
I think the powered steering pump is on its way out.  With the engine
running, turning the steering wheel makes a horrible whirry/motor noise,
noisier than the engine.
I am not sure if it is a job I can do myself (I imagine it involves taking
Breather hose03 Mar 2007 16:50 GMT4
