| Focus front noise | 17 Mar 2007 15:59 GMT | 5 |
I suspect the front right disk of my 53K-mile, 2000 Focus LX 1.8 Petrol (with ABS) is bent. I reported on problems with the middle bearing 6 months ago which, through misdiagnosis, led to replacing all three front bearings and the right driveshaft.

| 1995 Mondeo...... No spark | 17 Mar 2007 10:40 GMT | 11 |
As the title would suggest, I have got a 1995 Mondeo which seems to have finally given up the ghost. It has been playing up for 3 weeks now, taking its time to start in the mornings. But this morning it would not start at all. Took the spark plug out to check for a spark,

| Cleaning/paint care | 16 Mar 2007 21:36 GMT | 4 |
One area of the car that always suffers in my ownership is the paintwork. I love my Zaino polish that brings a DEEP WET shine to even my old non-clearcoat paintwork but the paint is really starting to suffer its age. Its going dull in patches and it absorbs oil and grease like a ...

| Glue for trim | 16 Mar 2007 10:01 GMT | 3 |
I had to remove some glued on trim from the front of my van to do some repairs to paintwork. Any suggestion what to use to stick it back. Something that will last, not dry out or deteriote with heat, ice rain etc. The old stuff VW used was black and slightly rubbery.

| future of the motor trade? | 16 Mar 2007 00:30 GMT | 40 |
A tad off topic I know, but I saw an item on the BBC News this evening < http://www.tiny.cc/7uf83 > and wondered if cars are now heading in the same general direction as the cheap disposable supermarket TV? The item said that the Chinese are planning to produce even cheaper vehicles

Piece of cake, I hear you say, and so it should be. Took out battery and battery tray, slackened bolts on cylinder, but do you think I could remove the union from the side of the slave cylinder? Could I buggery. Anyone care to enlighten me as to how to remove this so I can take ...

| Automatic cam belt tensioning | 15 Mar 2007 20:53 GMT | 4 |
I've just completed a cam belt change on a Rover 420 (2.0l T-Series petrol engine), and am a little suprised that the 'automatic'cam belt tensioner is bolted in place. I removed the tensioner to check it over, then once it was back in along with the new belt, put a new spring on ...

| Misfire on Ka | 15 Mar 2007 20:17 GMT | 16 |
After the aborted attempt to adjust the valve clearances at the weekend it now misfires intermittently independently of the engine speed. Another reason I gave up trying to adjust the clearances was that one of the spark plugs refused to unscrew, my breaker bar wasn't to hand and I

| Switch Problems or Wot ? | 15 Mar 2007 19:49 GMT | 3 |
1999 Vectra 1.8 LS Petrol. There are two switches on the dashboard for the air conditioning. Both switches fail to light up when depressed. I am aware that one switch can fail, just like that, but why should both fail at the same time.

| Black box on police cars | 15 Mar 2007 15:40 GMT | 3 |
I've noticed today on a couple of Surrey police cars a small black box on the roof at the back on the drivers side. On the way home from work, I spotted a police car parked up at the road side, the bobby looked like he was looking at something on his

| Speedometer problem, Peugeot 205 | 15 Mar 2007 15:27 GMT | 5 |
I have a Peugeot 205 1.4 Forever from 1994. Runs like a dream! But the speedometer has stopped working at all. I tried to remove the speedometer cable today, and it seems to me like it's working fine (when I rotate one end, the other end rotates accordingly).

| Master clutch cylinder won't fill up | 15 Mar 2007 11:22 GMT | 9 |
I've bled the brakes and then tried bleeding the clutch on my '94 Mondeo. After the fluid came out (not a lots of it) due to a depressed pedal, I've lost all the pressure in the clutch (reservoir kept full all the time).
