Spark plug changed (conditon of them?)31 May 2007 22:58 GMT3
I have manage to change the spark plugs today no problem whatsoever. I was
just wondering what the condition of them tells me. They all had light

Should my brake discs have failed MOT31 May 2007 21:47 GMT4
Thanks everyone.
I've got one side off but the shop's given me the wrong pads, so I'll be
going back tomorrow. If I'd bought the pads from a Renault dealer, I'm
sure they would know which were the right pads just from the reg or
Tyres in the Wet31 May 2007 21:22 GMT11
Any recommendations around the £60 mark? I had a couple of Barum tyres
on before, that weren't bad. But I had to get some new tyres, and the
only 195/60/14's I could find - in stock - that weren't budget - were
some Good Year. Oh, not too shabby I thought.

I'm trying to remove the nut which secures the track rod balljoint to the
hub.
I've undone it, or at least I thought I had, but it just keeps turning.
Has it broken off inside ? What do I do next if it has ?

MOT website does not mention it, only the spacing/ font...
Maybe I'll  put the tatty old ones in the boot just in case, although

Vauxhall Carlton Electric window gremlins !!30 May 2007 17:39 GMT2
My old Vauxhall Carlton (J plate 2.0i Auto Diplomat) has developed a
mind of its own in the electric window department !   When operating
the elec windows, up or down, more often than not they stop before
reaching full travel.  You then have to press the button a few times
Replacing rear end crankshaft oil seal30 May 2007 17:36 GMT2
I have a rear (gearbox) end crankshaft oil seal that needs replacing on my

going to take, can anybody give me some idea of the things that have to be
done to get at it? For instance, how much work is ...

Grit Blast Gun30 May 2007 16:43 GMT6
Looking at one of these for a few surface rust patches on wife's car, some
are in internal corners on the door frames. The metal itself is sound but I
guess a bit pitted under the paint
The guns seem much of a muchness and similarly priced

Does anyone have fancy for a lockable trolley jack
which can be locked to prevent it from dropping

Should my brake discs have failed MOT30 May 2007 07:54 GMT4
Duncan,
It's the inside edge of the inboard side (that doesn't have the wheel to
protect it) that's rusted.
